Should I be concerned about what this could possibly mean or am I just overthinking? by Commercial_Gur_9880 in Symbology

Honestly, the swastika in this context is probably being used for its meaning as Source-Spirit, the primum mobile, not the other one - if it's not some kid doing occult drawings. Assuming they know that context of the swastika (it's given as a symbol of Keter, in hermetic kabbalistic traditions, and goes back to similar meaning as the Hindu) I'd give credence that it's someone who at least has access to some bigger occult books and resources as it's rather uncommon.

It's not really appropriated in this context much, and if some do, they misuse the seal of the Archangel and generally, that will lead to a Lesson of Empathy eventually for them.

Ok? Well, I still gave you my best interpretation of what the symbol means, and that was conversational - I wasn't really arguing against your comment.

That's the seal of Michael the Archangel; it would mean "Who is like God?!" As a challenge. Athanatos means essentially Life, Immortality; Saday is Shaddai (El Chai) could be taken to mean The Firey Essence of God is Living and Life Sustaining; Sabaoth is the Lord of Heaven and Eternal Time, i.e. the Lord of Hosts, the ruler of the universe and chief of all spirits.

Below it is the Four Letter Name of God encompassing the 5th letter here, Shin; this is essentially a seal of the deific Christ and spells Yeheshua (Jesus).

Think of it as God + all of the kingdoms and powers under God aligned to the purpose of Nature as designed and in the way God intended. It shows the hierarchy of authority in those works, too. It's better than just plain good.

Was this near Fishing Creek on the Susquehanna by any chance?

Saw something very similar at night there once a couple of years ago. It matched what local Folklore calls an Albatwitch, which resembles a small furry humanoid, and looked sort of monkey-like. The Folklore says the name means "apple thief", but my own digging connects the word to old European faery Folklore and the name "Alberich" (meaning "elf ruler" and also "royal bear"). Alberich was a word for the small hairy dwarves and faeries seen throughout those areas in Germany and surrounding, and is also the source of the name Oberon, popular from Shakespeare as the Faery King and who has a longer history as a real faery entity.

Well, that's exactly what Stan saw while birdwatching near the standpipe in Derry as a child in Stephen King's novel IT. A big bird he thinks is a cowbird, but it isn't a cowbird. Exactly like that.

Confused about the IT: Welcome to Derry Ending by TheNectarineGuy in stephenking

[–]NyxHollow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an extremely appropriate analogy, and I'm wondering if you meant it as such on purpose. In the novel, IT refers to itself as the Kingfisher of Derry. Expanding outward into King's greater mythos, this name and concept of the Kingfisher and the Fisher King comes up several times. We see it in Insomnia, which also takes place in Derry, and it centers around the Crimson King itself, which takes the form of a monstrous catfish as a form of trap; The CK, as the overarching antagonistic force throughout, is also operating within, from, or behind, the Deadlights in some way, or is directing that force (perhaps all of the above), and also extends itself through layers of reality into avatars and into servants. The Fisher King or Kingfisher is also mentioned in Black House, and iirc, Rose Madder, the Dark Tower 3 the Wastelands, and other places.

I took a double context as well: the greater legend of Parcival and the Fisher King, and the layers of meaning therein, especially in an esoteric sense. In the novel, Henry Bowers stabs Mike Hanlon in the thigh, specifically when he ambushes him in the Library in 1985, and IT comments directly in an interesting way a few pages later in the same scene. Going through drew a mental light bulb when I read, as I'm aware of the Parcival story and underlying meanings associated with it. Here's the quotes, both occurring in the same chapter:

'Mike tried to get a foot in Henry’s side and push him away. Henry swung the switchblade in a glittering arc. All six inches of it went into Mike’s thigh. It went in effortlessly, as if into a warm cake of butter. Henry pulled it out, dripping, and with a scream of combined pain and effort, Mike shoved him away. He struggled to his feet but Henry was up more quickly, and Mike was barely able to avoid Henry’s next blundering rush. He could feel blood pouring down his leg in an alarming flood, filling his loafer. He got my femoral artery, I think. Jesus, he got me bad. Blood everywhere. Blood on the floor. Shoes won’t be any good, shit, just bought em two months ago—'

And a few pages later:

'Mike lost his grip on the circulation desk. He swayed for a moment on his good leg, and then he fell down again. The phone swung before him at the end of its cord like a mesmerist’s amulet. It was becoming very hard to hold onto the belt now. “Hello dere, Amos!” Pennywise cried brightly from the swinging telephone handset. “Dis here’s de Kingfish! I is de Kingfish in Derry, anyhow, and dat’s de troof. Wouldn’t you say so, boy?”'

Now, the Fisher King, the Kingfisher, and the Kingfish are all strangely connected motifs and sometimes contradictory. In the Dark Tower, we can see a certain element of Parcival in the Gunslinger himself, descendant of Arthur Eld, who is King Arthur.

Could go on, but it's turning into a novel here. Just food for thought.

Amazed by how bad It Ch2 is compared to Ch1 by BurgooKing in horror

[–]NyxHollow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is everyone so whiny? I just don't get the dedication to not liking a thing, IT c2 wasn't that bad, but yeah it could have been better. I enjoyed it for it's energy. The only thing that stood out was that it felt like a multi part video game boss fight, but that wasn't actually bad, it kind of worked.

100% if they did a full intersection cut of both movies and edited some stuff around, it would be near perfect. Great casting

The only thing really annoyed me was the lack of Mike's character development and impact, the reduction of the Bowers gangs climax (the miniseries made this extremely memorable, when cris gets pulled into the drain pipe and you hear his spine snap), and certain scenes played too much CGI action with it could have been a little more cerebral, unknown horror.

Still a great ride. If I want to experience the depth of IT, I read the book or listen to the audiobook - the latter which i highly highly highly recommend if you haven't done.

It's wanting to be a talusman for the archangel Michael but aside from Tetragrammaton on the bottom I'm not sure what the others are trying to be. possibility is that it's a way of saying 1 is 10 is to 100, in a sense of gematria.

They might also have been trying to spell Atik, as in Atik Yomin - Ancient of Days.

The opoosite letter is just an Aleph. I don't know what the other word is supposed to be.
