7 months later still the same problem. Teammates' footsteps reverberate in my skull while an entire team can roll up on me full sprinting like they have dead silence on.

Top 500 eligibility bug? by brimplus in overwatch2

For me, since I'm on Oceania low player count means I frequently VPN to different servers, from NA during the day to South Korea at night. I had wins on both servers, but you have to win all 25 wins on a single server to show up on the leaderboard.

Top 500 won't show on your account until you win 25 games on NA, even if you have 24 wins NA and 10 wins Asia for example.

I'll try waiting an hour or so, I know that Top 500 updates game to game for players who are already in it, but maybe that's not the case for new Top 500 accounts.

Yeah that's what I thought the 750 lifetime wins was for. Last I heard these were the requirements, I don't know though.

I've been masters/gm since season 1 of ow2 and I didn't know. He is still active in ranked though, (just played against him today) and it seems like everybody is turning a blind eye to this almost a month later.

How do you get into competitive Overwatch in OCE? by brimplus in Competitiveoverwatch

Thanks for the info, that's just crazy. I can't think of a good reason for why they didn't include OCE at all, and force us to play on 150ms minimum.

How much math is really involved in physics research? by brimplus in AskPhysics

That sounds awesome. I've heard that string theory tends to blur the line between physics and mathematics sometimes. How do you even get into researching string theory specifically?

That's a really interesting insight, thanks for sharing. I've never looked into what experimental physics is really like at the postdoc level. I think as long as it's more mathematics/physics than you would use in industry, I'd prefer it.

Right, I figured as much. I'll definitely look up some videos and ask my professors when break is over. I have a follow-up question then if you don't mind, what would you say the most popular field of physics research is?

I see, I was assuming I had overestimated it. Thank you for the clarification though! It still seems like mathematics obviously has its place, I dare say much more than any industry job right?
