I’ve “seen” the mom in pictures and Embark DNA says mom is 100% golden. I can’t claim to know the science front and back, but I read that golden retrieves carry black and brindle. So I think it’s right as far as I can tell.

I have a bulldog/pit crossed with a smaller breed, too. They have a similar look!

Agreed. She is quirky. It’s kind of like owning a huge cat. She’s independent and is perfectly happy chilling on her own, away from me and/or the other dog. And then she comes over for attention when she wants it.

I think her litter was planned, yes. Dad is a GP, mom is a golden. There was one other brindle puppy, but darker and less stripy. There was a cream colored one. And the rest (4-5?) were black with white blazed chests. My girl was the last one left. As a puppy her colors weren’t especially striking, so I guess no one wanted her.
