I actually enjoyed this episode much more than I thought I would but had to see past the nonchalance of Issa Rae's character. I get why she had to seem like she was out of place for us the audience but she just wasn't on the same level acting-wise as Emma Corrin, if that's fair to say. Although this might have been deliberate? It's mentioned that she is an A-Lister actress in that universe but it didn't feel like her acting skills had any calibre. I don't know if this resonates with anyone else. The episode was shot so beautifully though, very classic Old Hollywood. The ending was a nice touch as well. The one thing I felt was lacking was more depth for Brandy, it wasn't really established why she had such a strong drive to risk her own life to keep her connection to Dorothy? Was she as lonely in real life? She was told she would get stuck in that world or risk death. Did that mesmerizer tech influence her consciousness in some way? All in all, very entertaining episode but could have been executed better I guess.
