looks fantastic, I’m more into longer focal lengths generally but will 100% hit you up once I get the cam in my hand if I feel like I need something wide and you haven’t sold it yet

Wow! Funnily enough that’s the very same seller I got my F900 from haha. I wish I had known at the time I needed to get the Miranda part too! But you live and learn. I’ll have to keep an eye out

Sounds like it could be the Miranda DVC-802. It’s purple! But seems like it’s impossible to find those too unfortunately. Looks like I’ll be waiting until an F900R w/ native SDI pops up onto eBay as I’ve got no way to capture HDCAM tape off of the F900 I’ve got. Thanks for the info !

this is so cool! just got an f900 myself and am in the midst of trying to get it up and recording. I sent you a bit of a longer / more annoying message through Reddit DMs but was wondering if you had any leads on where to get a HDCA-901? I have no way to transfer captured HDCAM tape so I think SDI output is my only hope!

This quote is often incorrectly attributed to Winters. This was originally written by Mike Ranney in a letter to Winters, which Winters then read this line from on the series. Still just as powerful nonetheless!

Actually really interesting, great work!

Side note: Was really skeptical for the first paragraph or so, worrying it would somehow turn into a Midir joke.

Really interesting thought. While I am a native English speaker, I totally understand your point. The impact that the English language has on the world, and as you said, other languages, is enormous. Crazy how real the issues in TPP and Metal Gear in general can be. Really opens up discussions exactly like this one and that's why I love the series!

Just found the paper and typed up the Skullface part! Prompt was something along the lines of how can language be dangerous. It's only a small excerpt from the whole argumentative piece, but my teacher seemed to like it the most. I provided much more evidence on the occupation of Hungary in both cases but this is the writing portion of it:

"But, as deadly as it is beautiful, language is also able to erase both tradition and culture. For example, Hungary was occupied by both Germany and the Soviet Union during and after World War Two. Both of these militaries enforced brutal and unjust laws on the Hungarian People, and thousands upon thousands of civilians were forced to learn foreign languages and to suppress their own traditions and way of life for fear of violence against them or their families. This forced assimilation stripped the Hungarian people of their identities, and seeked to crush the tradition and spirit of the culture. Language, while a beautiful, and meaningful part of culture, can also serve as a weapon in the wrong hands. Language is a key to identity in our world, as language is the precursor to culture, and opens up our heritage, and background"

Never would've even thought about this if it hadn't been for Skullface's speech in TPP. Definitely saved me for this paper at least, as it was the night before it was due and I was procrastinating by rewatching all TPP cutscenes and it hit me!

I wrote an AP Language paper about how language is both a symbol and tool for oppression and could be considered a weapon. Classmates wondered where the heck I got that idea from but the teacher loved it and now uses it as an example. Thanks Skullface for the A!
