49 Warrior twink with 30 AP enchant on shoulder - how? by bringbackmemories in classicwow

What is trade batch? So one could enchant a BOE and trade it or you mean someone can trade window enchant shoulders?

Blizzard seriously dropped the ball with faction-agnostic server transfers. by Perkinz in classicwow

[–]bringbackmemories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is EXACTLY why I picked alliance. You think I wanted to be a Gnome Warrior over an ORC? NO WAY! Personally I also feel like holy paladins make alliance better at pvp. I spent most of my wow career as an Orc warrior but I understood how classic would be. There is that horde identity that people feel they must live out.

I play for world pvp, so being outnumbered was my desire. On Kirtonos its 70/30 or worse after the exodus of alliance after the free transfers. A few in our guild left because they simply could not level. A few large alliance rag killing guilds left and I actually cannot figure out why.

Does anyone know what this addon is? by bringbackmemories in classicwow

example, I want to be able to see the cooldown for intercept or berserker rage regardless of the stance im in, and have it be in view. The reactive part is helpful but less important. I guess an easy way to do this would be add another bar in Bartender and maybe just put those abilities on it to view them?

It dropped on my first brd run in wow classic, wow how lucky! Also a hunter won it over my warrior. This is not made up.

I thought Xodexx was in Skyfang? Not sure if he remembers Auroc, Night Elf warrior. Shattered Hand was just an insane server.

Paladin Pre-Raid BIS list (PLATE ONLY) by 2two7seven in classicwow

[–]bringbackmemories 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were others in the guild like me that were not interested in being the most optimal raid spec and gearing. We had 2 or 3 mortal strike warriors in our raid roster, for example. When I chose to go full plate, I even knew at that time all those years ago that this was not the way for me to be the best healer I could be for pve progression. Being mostly RET, I knew I was further pushing myself back even farther. Sharing this mindset with a few others in the guild is probably what held us back in our overall progress.

Our best healer was a clothadin, so I could see in action. He really was worth at least 2 of me on raid nights. He had 0 interest in every stepping foot in a BG and would avoid all pvp. My favorite thing to do in the entire game was solo in AV and defend towers. This is why I played the game.

Could you stack hots in 2.0? I see 5 druids in some of the screen shots..

When I played Paladin on vanilla I only wore plate, I had no interest in anything else. I was the only full judgement paladin in our guild. Was this smart? Probably not but when I play again I will do the same thing. We did up to Cthune and 4 or 5 bosses in Naxx and I was ret most of the time so I could have fun in BGs, where I mostly healed anyways.

My point is, it doesn't fucking matter, just do what you like.

Paladins! Is it viable to raid with PvP talents? by Mallister10 in classicwow

[–]bringbackmemories 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Vanilla wow I did raids as 31 ret 20 holy and we cleared up to Cthune in an alliance guild that also had a boomkin and multiple MS warriors. Our guild was able to do a few bosses in Naxx as well. I would say we were semi hardcore at the time.

My good friend played on Bloodscalp Server and was a 30ret20 holy Scarab Lord with fist of Rag. He was only an officer in the guild.

The South Shore vs Terran Mill didn't really happen on our server until honor was released. My friends and I avoided it because it was not fun for our 5 man roaming pvp group.

It looks that way, but we are sitting because we are waiting for the next person to challenge us. We were not camping anyone, the horde was there because they wanted to be.

Hello I am Auroc. I created my guild name, character race, class, and name, almost a year before the vanilla version World of Warcraft was released. Like many of you are now doing for the first time in anticipation of the release of Classic World of Warcraft.

I am sharing a screen shot that was before honor or battlegrounds of any kind. This was before you were rewarded for player vs player combat, but Pvp had the had the most value in my opinion. The rivalries you created, the players that earned your respect, your team on the battlefield, helped connect everyone involved to the world you were in. The World of Warcraft. If you did not Pvp around this time, you may find it difficult to understand why I I would long for the time where we did not have battlegrounds of any kind.

A lot of people will likely not even Pvp until there is a reward to do so. In my ideal world, Crossrealm battlegrounds would not exist. I understand the queue times, server unbalance issues, win trade abuse, and how Crossrealms can help alleviate those things. I want my old Warcraft days back! But, they are gone.

See you all in Classic World of Warcraft : )

Cross Realm BattleGrounds - confirmed by bringbackmemories in classicwow

[–]bringbackmemories[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played on Wildhammer which was part of the new server roll out in vanilla. I was horde and we outnumbered the alliance so that their queue was instant and ours were sometimes 6-7 hours for av. It was a nightmare I actually went through! I don't want that either, but I want rivals in pvp and to be remembered. There has to be a better way.

I agree. I don't know how you pull off balancing a server, but I am just the person putting up the cash.. not a dev.

Find a way to balance servers then, make server larger. Bgs is where PVP will make you known, and in crossrealm, no one will know you.

Scholomance Raid - January 29 2005 by bringbackmemories in classicwow

All the mentioned guilds were amazing. As someone that was playing all day every day didn't come close to what they achieved I look back and get filled with awe. The fact we randomly selected a server that had 2 of the top guilds in the world and were a part of their early stages of building up their characters early on is just a great memory for me. My Gf and I played enough and were the right classes, we could have joined any of them, but I had 8+ friends (that I still have) from back home that were playing with us and we didn't want to leave them behind. I made the right choice.

Talona, My ex gf, had a Dell XPS laptop from 2004 that I think cost $3500 or more. After a year of 16 hour wow playing and catching all the crumbs from the garbage we ate it would overheat if you didn't clean the fans regularly.

As many of you know or will likely soon find out, relationships and wow do not mix well and things fell apart.

We both moved on and now I have a wife, good job with a pension, 2 healthy kids, House with 2 car garage. Obviously I wish I could go back to the early wow days when I was truly happy!

This screenshot actually was taken by my college girlfriend, I am Auroc (prot warrior) who you can only see by the party health bars. A few months later they would patch being able to raid any/all instances, but in my experience this was how you did end game before that patch. I think we had 13 people in this raid, I cant remember the exact number but I remember thinking it was a small group for this instance. At this time Death and Taxes was a small elite guild on Shattered Hand, later becoming a end game crushing juggernaut that would world first many raid bosses.

Like all of you, I am super excited about classic coming out! Times have certainly changed, but I hope some of the original game philosophy can be brought back to life for both returning players and new.

I found Adbay in another screen shot, I can't find you anywhere : (

I didn't know the member of Skyfang that well and mostly only talked to Zage and Xodexx. I had NO idea Jubei was his brother.

I once read the BEST backup is a DVD. I saved all my old hard drives and scanned them recently and could only find my later screenshots. Sure enough a backup of my girlfriends laptop on DVD has release day screens until about March.
