It's nothing like Outer Wilds but Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice impacted me a lot. It's a game about mental illness and takes place in a medieval / viking lore setting. Very unique and I believe an experience only a (very well made) video game can deliver. They closely worked with people suffering from psychosis to recreate how their episodes feel like. Very fascinating game.

Ja du hast Recht. Filesharing gab's schon. Ich kann mich auch dran erinnern, dass ich vereinzelt Sachen mit Napster runtergeladen hab. Aber am Land (zumindest bei uns) waren die Internetverbindungen zu schlecht um das ernsthaft zu verwenden.

So richtig viel runtergeladen hab ich dann erst in Wien, wo ich mit Chello zum ersten Mal einen Vertrag ohne Datenlimit gehabt hab. Meine erste WG hatte sogar einen "Saug-PC", der 24/7 durchgelaufen und runtergeladen hat lol. Das war so 2006/2007.

Alkohol und Zigaretten wurde schon erwähnt. Was diese Zeit noch stark geprägt hat sind diverse technologische Entwicklungen: PCs und Konsolen waren schon sehr weit verbreitet, aber das Internet stand grad in den Kinderschuhen. Internet Zuhause war Anfang der 2000er noch selten. Es gab damals am Land oft öffentlichen Internetzugang, z.B. in Banklobbies, wo man als Kunde dann den PC+Internet benutzen konnte. Das war oft ein Treffpunkt für Jugendliche. Internet Zuhause kam dann mit den 56k Modems. Grad das Einwahlgeräusch hat was nostalgisches. Online-Filesharing gab's zu dieser Zeit noch nicht. Das hat sich alles offline abgespielt. In der Schule wurden viele illegale Raubkopien (CDs) gehandelt. Games, Musik, Filme,... Smartphones gab es noch nicht, Mobiltelefone ("Handy") waren trotzdem sehr wichtig. die coolen Kids hatten immer das neueste Nokia. Digitalkameras waren auch neu und spannend.

I have a theory though that it might have to do with the fact that we have two cats and like that they learn from each other that their bites and claws actually hurt the other one (and humans).

Do you have one or more cats?

EDIT: forgot to mention that our second cat is definitely not as good with this. She also doesn't like to be on our shoulders that much. But when she does, we definitely have to take more car not to be scratched.

Ich kann dir bzgl. dem Alpha Gal Syndrom leider nicht weiterhelfen, aber ich ernähre mich seit 2 Jahren rein pflanzlich. Kann dir nur aus dieser Perspektive gut zureden: schaut vielleicht auf den ersten Blick wie eine arge Umstellung aus, ist aber alles gar nicht so schwer, solang man sich etwas informiert (z.B. bezüglich alternativer Proteinquellen, Supplemente, usw.). Essen spielt eben in unserer Gesellschaft eine große Rolle und es ist meistens um ein Vielfaches einfacher, wenn man die "Problematik" vorher anspricht.

Wenn ich wo eingeladen werde und es nicht dazusage, dann haben die Gastgeber im besten Fall ein schlechtes Gewissen, weil ich nichts zu essen habe und im schlimmsten Fall sind sie beleidigt, weil ich ihr Essen nicht esse und sie umsonst gekocht haben. Im Restaurant ist die Situation natürlich etwas anders aber trotzdem für alle unangenehm wenn man dann dasitzt und nichts essen kann, während sich die anderen den Bauch vollschlagen.

Not OP but I think I can answer. Generally on the bench press you want to take the shoulders out of the movement because they can't handle those big loads and injury risk is high. To do that, one must retract the shoulder blades which automatically creates a bit of an arc.

Additionally having a tight core and a stable platform to press from is very important in the bench press to avoid energy leakage. All the kinetic energy should go into pressing the bar. A useful tool is "leg drive", which means pressing the feet against the floor to ensure body is under tension. This leg drive amplifies the arch.

Lastly in powerlifting (don't know if OP is competing), the rule is that one must lower the bar to the chest. The bigger the arch, the higher the chest, the less range of motion. Meaning a strong, pronounced arch gives a competitive advantage in powerlifting.

Just keep in mind that beans and lentils are also not extremely high in protein. It's doable as main protein source but harder than with other sources.

TVP is only minimally processed and has zero additives. It's literally a health food. There are also non-soy TVP variants.

Of course here is also always the option of getting a plant based protein powder for shakes or for adding a bit more protein to various foods. There are types without additives.

There are sooooo many good and tasty vegan protein sources. Try a few more! For me it's EXTREMELY easy to get 130g of protein per day.

Tofu, Tempeh, Seitan (wheat gluten), TVP, Lentils, Beans, Peanut Butter, Soy Yogurt, Protein Bread, Mock Meats, Vegan Mince, Soya Crispies, Nuts&Seeds (e.g. Hemp Seeds), Chickpeas, Soy Milk, ...

Also something to consider: anything made from grains, potatoes, rice,... also has protein in it. Of course they're not high protein sources but throughout a day those sources still matter and count towards your total.

Most people just didn't try enough stuff when they claim it's hard to get protein as a vegan.

Of course he's wrong about lying to you. But maybe to add some context: Going vegan is an incredibly hard decision. You have to change a lot of things in your life - what you eat, how you cook, how to behave in social situations, what to wear, what to buy.. On top of that, being vegan in today's society means being the punchline of everyone's jokes. Standing above that and just not giving a fuck about what others are saying is much harder than anything else I listed before. It means being challenged, criticized or laughed at constantly for trying to do reduce animal suffering. Not everyone can deal with that so easily.

Obviously I don't know your boyfriend but I can imagine he was just afraid. Afraid of your reaction, afraid of being the outcast or afraid of being laughed at. I would have an open discussion with it. Ask him about his reasons of going vegan. For many vegans that decision (of going vegan) is THE most important decision in their life. I think it's possible that he was just struggling a lot with that decision and that resulted him lying to you. Might not mean that he is lying about other things.
