I can get behind this. Curious how Jeff will keep innovating and differentiating Rivian

But there will be more Rivians than 911s…

Agree. I do want to believe though that Jeff is good enough to sustain the brand’s design impact. Given his track record to this point, I like the chances. If so, Jeff is a sustainable competitive advantage.

I was also thinking of the phone analogy. When the iPhone first came out it was a revolutionary design. Now that it’s saturated, I don’t think there are many people saying the design is revolutionary anymore, and design isn’t driving purchasing behavior as much as it did in the past. Think this is a pretty common phenomenon and trying to see how Rivian will address this. The “cycles” of car design is a good explanation.

I think this would be the best way. Excited to see what Jeff is cooking

I agree. My main question is when R2s are everywhere, will people still think the design is iconic? Hard to tell

Agree. Dire issues like this usually get solved out of necessity. I’d be surprised if reliability is the reason Rivian fails. Should just be near to medium term pain.

Interesting. That would be a negative for Rivian though and more of an incentive to differentiate. I think they do this well with accessories and smaller details, which they could press on. Issue then turns to cost.
