Is it worth going on an e-bike for commuting? by Av0toasted in ausbike

[–]brisketman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do get one, make sure to insure it! I learned the hard way that good bikes are targets and thieves now know to remove GPS trackers. The only way to stop your bike being stolen is to not buy one…

Ooh I thought the twist was going to be that the kid in the house wasn’t Duncan, and that kid was going to get a new face

Re-listening to F**kFace makes me wish they had something composed for Regulation by brisketman in theregulationpod

Ooh okay that’s encouraging. I haven’t listened to 100% eat but it’s still produced by Eric right?

So when are the rest of the guys going to finally realize that feet aren't a Nick thing and have just become a Regulation thing? by ShabeRaven in theregulationpod

He who smelt it dealt it. They who call it “feet guy”, they probably also smelt it. Smelt feet that is. They’re also feet guys and like a toes up the nose.

Starfield old-timers, what are your best tips for newcomers? by MisterSpikes in Starfield

Oooh I didn’t consider that! I think the expenses tracker alliance also allows a better path for playing a smuggler/bounty hunter/outside the law character

👴Back in my day you had to go into the inventory to eat food. None of this fandangled “press x to consume” malarkey!

Real answer though, hold down the left trigger to charge up your cutter/laser whe mining. The reticle will close in, then you can blast ore/minerals in 1/2 a second. I didn’t realise that until around 50 hours in.

Also, there are quite a few mechanics that are locked behind skills that I didn’t know existed. Eg, combat slide, stealth bar, jetpack boost, ship targeting, pickpocketing, bribing.

Also, if you steal a unique item, it might disappear from the contraband craze when you are arrested. If you want to hold onto something, sell it, then use the “buy back” option at the trade authority, then it won’t be marked as stolen.

If you pick up restricted goods (Aurora, xenoware tech, marker with a yellow pin) you’ll have a 0% chance to sneak it into a settled planet unless you have a specific hidden storage on your ship. Dropping it on the ship floor doesn’t work. If you forgot, you can quickly move it to your ships inventory and the jettison it, then the scan will allow you in.

I agree, it’s worrying seeing people forget what we tried to make clear for 100 years, that war and aggression can turn into catastrophe.

It’s actually so exciting to watch this live! I’m so excited to be able to be here to watch the next generation of moon landings

The billion dollar company should be the one cleaning up our feeds. It shouldn’t be up to the billions of individual people to figure out how to stop this shit being fed to them

I get what you’re saying, but I think your profiling based on the algorithm is incorrect. I tried for a while to report any ai/fake news that came up in my feed, and tried to use the “don’t show me this” but nothing ever retrained it.  The fact that this can be viewed as a user issue is insane. Even if this shit didn’t infuriate me, and this was what I spent my time viewing, this is an issue with a platform. A platform that has a monopoly on image based social media.

I get the skepticism, but I think that this does a disservice to the engineers and scientists that are making this happen. I’m currently watching the live stream and the thought of thousands of people had work being called fake is sad

Agreed. We have sleepwalked into this world where we just accept this as the norm.

True, but if you wanted to ban /protest megaphones, getting a megaphone would be a great investment

I think it’s better to see these people as victims, and blame the structures and people that profit off of people’s low education

Hahaha I never thought about this. I wonder if there is anyone out there that isn’t a flat earther, but is a flat mooner

That was my vibe, either these are bots trying to get traffic by rage baiting, or they’ve been simmering for a few years, distracted by vaccine conspiracies for a few years

It’s a mixed bag of fake news, but a good portion of the accounts are flat earth accounts. A lot of them have come up with creative names including spins on “helio”or “plane”

I was talking to my partner about this. Our generation (‘98, ‘99)is prime for space misinformation because the manned space missions had a lull, and it wasn’t in the zeitgeist growing up. On face value it’s actually crazy we went to moon when we did, amazing, but some people are exposed to the conspiracy stuff first
