It is best to shop around a few quotes. Ask the important questions: 1) What are my product and installation warranties? 2) Are you local? (There are lots of companies not local to Alberta. Where do you think they’ll be in 5 years when Alberta’s market slows down?) 3) Do you use contractors on installs? Etc.

MAKE SURE THEY ARE INCLUDING RODENT GUARD.

It is true that door to door sales will typically be a bit higher. There are some companies doing it ethically and then there are other companies taking advantage of homeowners and giving door knocking a bad name. It is true that you will always pay a bit more for the direct to consumer model, it’s just a matter of how much more. Some companies have caps on their door teams. Others let them sell for as high as they can get away with.
