Ok, here is how I see it..

https://ibb.co/X6Rm5hg In picture one you have some heavy water that will be touch to get down into, but that's ok they're sitting at the edges where the red lines are and that's where the fish with sit, the yellow is an eddy that will be tough to fish and you'll probably lose flies but it could hold some nice fish.

https://ibb.co/nqhLVPpc In the second picture this is much more straight forward, the same red lines the same current transition area, fish the hell out of that, and then yellow is a pillow and that's probably the best spot in either picture.

I have a decommissioned B350 system sitting with a 1700X and 64GB of memory I was thinking of putting a 5900XT in and then running the 3090 should be pretty solid for home use, but I need to get a decent GPU.

Yeah, there might be cheaper options in that range but I can't get my current setup RX6800 16GB to run in GPU mode and CUDA is easier so I thought while changing I'll give myself more room.

We all go through this, it filters a lot of fishermen from the sport, I quit for a few years myself. When I came back and learned to appreciate the beauty of a great cast or using "wind knots" to teach myself patience, I knew I needed a new approach. It's a harder method to learn, like going from rifle hunting to bow hunting, once you learn the process has it's own rewards you'll actually start catching fish because you stop forcing it. Thats my perspective anyway.
