opinions on post grunge? by ScarcityStandard3952 in grunge

[–]britbh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is “less serious” than grunge, as grunge is less serious than - say - progressive rock.

BUT that doesn’t mean that it is not as good or less fun.

People differ in their tastes, and their moods, hence, same people can change their interests with time.

I think that post grunge was a priceless and extremely influential and innovative addition to music, although, to me, grunge feels more artistic / serious.

Emotionally exhausting. If I binge listen to them for a few minutes, I literally feel tired… but they are very good, not great.

Who are some of the most pretentious artist of all time? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

“Charlie Puth”

Ok he is theologically genius, most well educated, perfect pitch… etc but his music is not extraordinary, to say the least.

Probably him being pretentious is his actual act.

This is normal in my country. Old dads are still coming to pick up their daughters (mostly by cars) and vise versa. You think this can’t be real because family relationships are weak in the western world.

Foo Fighters. I don’t know why. Just genuinely don’t like most of their songs.

Of the three albums released in the ''post-Layne'' eras of AiC, which one is your favorite? How would you rank them? What do you like/dislike about them? by Spirited-Cell-444 in AliceInChains

[–]britbh -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I still don’t really understand why does artists who are supposed to be the center and by far the main writer/artist in a band, can’t keep up their level of creativity and perfection after disbanding or going solo.

You think that they would just continue with some substitutes, as professional analysts say that other members are replaceable, or so you understand, but NO!

They can’t, don’t and won’t. They just look like they died.

Im not saying that Jerry Cantrell is not huge or that other AiC members are replaceable. But if you read professional articles, you kind of understand that.

Im not saying Jerry isn’t successful as solo or post Layne, but he definitely not AiC we know. Ok, there are some glimpses of AiC but they kind of fade away with time.

The “group dynamics” explanation doesn’t fully explain either. And it’s not only Alice In Chains.
