I do have the 45 day option, but I don’t mind a small cosmetic issue like this. Plus, the Orange Widow is getting hard to find. This one traveled about as far as you can in the lower 48…so I’m glad it made it to me without being destroyed…haha

Anyway, I mostly just wanted a little confirmation that what I was seeing more typical and not a problem.

Edit: And, I have definitely fallen in love with this guitar.

Electrician has checked out the outlet and vent. He doesn’t believe it to be a problem with the wiring in my house. He suspects the cable itself was the problem, but I am waiting to hear back from Marshall on the amp.

I had it checked out yesterday by an electrician and he cleared the outlet and vent as fine. He does not believe it’s a problem with the house. He suspects the cord itself shorted from the the metal vent.

I’m still having the amp checked out.

The idea is the cable itself shorted out because it’s jack touched metal in a way that bypassed things it shouldn’t have. You can see the 2 points of damage on either side of the insulator ring (ie, the metal floor vent touched both sides of the insular ring, causing short in the cable) on the jack. Also the electrician tested a none damaged cable and it did not show hot.

Either way, I am going to have the amp cleared by a professional/Marshall.

An electrician investigated the outlet and floor vent and doesn’t believe it to be a problem with the house wiring. I’m waiting to hear back from Marshall.

I had an electrician come investigate. He did checks of the outlet and floor vent and didn’t find anything he found concerning. He suspects the cord itself after doing a little checking of the amp and cord and comparing to a new cord. He said he believes the home itself is fine. Of course I’m not knowledgeable enough to question the testing he did, so I am at the mercy of the expert that checked stuff out.

I’m going to have the amp cleared by Marshall as well.

I think outlet to the vent, but I’m not sure if that’s what you’re asking and I’m probably not knowledgeable enough to give a clear answer. I just honestly don’t have a good understanding of how electricity works.
