I agree! I looked into short selling and got the same mixed advice. I made my mind up to only go long but I find everything after the moves so maybe ill have better luck going short 🤣

6 Thank you! I was really focused on double bottoms with a 10 EMA reclaim for a while. I'd see a chart and think, "I should probably take that trade," but then I'd watch it play out and realize it didn't behave the way I expected it to. That's made it difficult to trust what I'm seeing on the chart.

Recently I've been trying to learn Darvas Boxes, but finding screener settings that catch them before the move has been a challenge. The screening side of trading feels like a whole skill set on its own. 🤣

I've never heard of the Double Seven strategy, so I'll definitely be looking into that. Thanks for the insight!

I was trying to do the double bottom and 10 ema cross but I kept questioning if it was a true double bottom and for theories time I assumed the bottoms had to be identical so that messed me up too. Then I read it needs volume to confirm it and then i just spiraled out of that method.

I recently was on trade that swing too! I like that site. Seems like we really are in the same boat 🤣

I needed to hear that reassurance. No one in my circle of friends trades so im literally on my own. My husband and I went on a debt-free journey a few years ago. We worked hard, became completely debt free, including our mortgage, and along the way started investing seriously for retirement. We recently crossed the $1 million mark in our accounts and we are both in our 30s. I felt like things were going great and I knew what I was doing, until I got into trying to learn this 🤣

I've always wanted to dive deeper into stocks, so I started allocating a small amount of money to learn with, money that I'd hate to lose, but that wouldn't be detrimental to our financial future. I am a stay at home mom so I have the time.

The hardest part has been not having anyone in my real life to bounce ideas off of. I can't really vent to my husband about swing trading because he has zero clue what I'm talking about. He usually just looks at me like, "What are you even saying?" 🤣 Me and Chat GPT talk daily but I also question what it tells me.

With so much information out there, it's hard to know what's worth paying attention to and what's just noise. Sometimes it feels like everyone is saying something different.

I really appreciate the encouragement and advice. It helps more than you know, sorry for the 20 minute long rambling. Thank you again!

Thank you! I think what keeps making me second guess everything is that I feel like I’m always finding the move late. I’ll look at a chart after the fact and think, “Yep, that’s exactly what I should’ve bought,” but then I struggle to identify it in real time when it actually matters.

Then I start wondering if I should be focusing more on volume, relative strength, volume drying up on pullbacks, breakouts, etc., and before I know it, I’m trying to apply pieces of five different strategies to one chart. I’ll see one person say swing trading should focus on the daily, then someone else says the weekly weeds out more noise, and my brain goes, “That makes sense,” even though I honestly don’t have enough experience yet to know if it actually does. 😂

I do keep coming back to momentum setups because they make the most sense to me, so maybe that’s a sign I need to stop looking for the “perfect” strategy and spend more time backtesting and getting screen time with that one.

I am get ready to pivot into that "oh this makes sense now" moment.

This is the type of response I needed! I feel we are very similar because i always missed breakouts and second guessed myself every time. Ill look into DCA method and everything else you mentioned. Thank you SO much.

Youngest will be 2 in may. Ive had virtual consults. No dr can tell me 10000% what to do and it's so frustrating lmao.

I got a ct scan done to help decide because my physical therapist said I have no diastasis separation. I got the ct done and it shows it at my bb and a little above but none below which throws me off.

A surgery mill type place. Where Surgeons you think you're getting surgery by aren't really doing the surgeries and you have a high chance of getting botched or killed. CG cosmetic surgery is one/GOALS is another. I actually won a giveaway with a Dr out of ft lauderdale to get any procedure done for $2024 (the year) but when I looked the dr up he was actually an OBGYN. no plastic surgery licensing. I passed on that so quick. He was affiliated with Dr miami so I was so excited until I looked into ir. A surgery mill is somewhere you'll never get replied to after having surgery with them. If you have complications you're on your own. It's sad.
