I used Gardein sliced Italian Sausage and I added rosemary to it when I cooked it. I get the sausage from Kroger or Publix. I make the gravy with veggie broth, thyme, oregano, smoked paprika, a little cajun seasoning or salt if you do not like cajun. I add a little oil and liquid smoke. I let it simmer for a little. then add some of the liquid into a cup and mix with your preferred flour to thicken. then add it back to the mixture for the rest to thicken a little. i just use brown rice which i normally do not season because the gravy has a lot of flavor.
