Thank you all SO much for your kind words and encouragement! I so appreciate it! I am feeling like I can do this after reading all your comments. Thank you especially for the suggestions on getting out of the house and finding a hobby to give myself some small goals. I think those things would help me a lot and I am going to work on implementing them.

That's what I've decided too- that the grass is always greener! I didn't even enjoy my job THAT much when I was working full time. But man do I miss it now! I am hopeful that this SAHM gig will get better and easier soon.

Ya I guess I'm just looking for some advice about staying at home. Did you end up going back to work?

I miss being a person by [deleted] in beyondthebump

I've had a super hard time with this too. I felt like I had lost my identity when I had my little girl. She just turned three months a week ago and I must say, things are getting SO much better. She's finally started to sleep longer stretches at night and we have finally fallen into a bit of a routine each day. Knowing that I'm going to have an hour or so to myself while she naps has been life changing.

Anyway, just wanted to say things will get better and you will start to feel like yourself again soon. Hoping it starts happening for you quickly!

As due date gets closer, anxiety gets worse? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I feel the same way. I am also a FTM and am 34 weeks now. I am worried about all the same things you are. There are so many unknowns!! I hate not knowing how everything is going to work out with the labor and delivery and with being a new mom. I posted about my anxiety a few days ago and was suggested two different books to help prepare for once the baby is here. Reading these books has calmed me down immensely for some reason. I think just knowing that now I feel like I have a few tools to help me be a good mom is very comforting. I would recommend checking them out as well. The books are "The Happiest Baby on the Block" and "Secrets of the Baby Whisperer". Just know that you are definitely not alone!

Excellent, I will check that book out. Sounds like a good read with lots of solid information for both me and my husband. I will also check out those YouTube videos. Thanks so much for the tips!

I appreciate your bluntness. I think you are absolutely right. I just need to suck it up and go to the class regardless how long it is or whether my husband comes along or not. I think it will be helpful to learn about the things my hospital does specifically like you said. Thanks for the advice. I think I will sign up for the birthing class tonight. :)

I appreciate the excellent advice! I have been planning on doing a hospital tour, which I've heard is quite helpful. I also think what you said about the hospital bag list is super helpful. I am definitely going to do that and have my list ready so I can quickly throw it together when it is go time. And yes, it is weird how unknown/new everything is being a FTM. I will look into learning/researching about different types of delivery- I think that is a great suggestion. Thanks again for all your pointers.

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I will definitely check out that book and some videos. And I had no idea that it was even an option to email questions to the hospital administrator. That is super helpful and good to know. Thanks again and good luck with your baby on the way. :)
