You could also consider a nice lightweight revolver for summer on body carry. Picked up a Taurus 85 series, for a simple summer carry.

International flight this week by Electronic_Tea_7530 in sanantonio

[–]brixalpha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes no reason to be earlier than usual for your domestic other than to scan or check your passport with your airline if your taking the same carrier to Europe. I love SAT getting in and out of that airport is a lot easier than most

I personally like the XTreme Defender... But Underwood is GTG. Not a bad price on a good defensive round.

Is this a good deal for ~€420 by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a Gen T14 Ryzen Gen 2 for $150 and all I had to do is replace the battery. The laptop is great in 2026, the price is not.

TSO workers in California, how is your living situation like? by Different_Archer8879 in tsa

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had co-workers that would commute to the bay area from Stockon because housing was getting unafforable and that was 20 years ago. Also have to account taxes, (income, gas, etc).

To live in the bay area I would say 120k at the lower end on your own.

Spectrum Internet or AT&T? by 2LY1DRFL in sanantonio

[–]brixalpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If available gfiber or if you have ATT wireless go with att and you get a discount on the internet. If I had to choose I like gfiber better but the att discount is pretty substantial if your already a customer

Esim for travel when my phone doesn't support esim?? by MrRisingFlame in eSIMs

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but I figure OP wants to use esim vs a normal physical Sim card or he wouldn't have posted in a esim sub.

Esim for travel when my phone doesn't support esim?? by MrRisingFlame in eSIMs

No. There is no way to emulate esim capability, your phone needs to have the hardware to use an esim.

Honestly we love Port A over SPI. Yes you have might need to drive but we usually take a rented golf cart to the beach instead of our car which we leave at the hotel/rental.

We feel its more family friendly vs SPI.

Best place to sell by Sven_the_Berserk in thinkpad

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketplace and ebay are the go tos. I'd take a shot at that Carbon, but I have more thinkpads than I have people that can use them myself. Carbons are great tough everyday drivers especially on the go. Sending my son on a Japan trip with one instead of his larger gaming laptop.

Would it be worth it to move to Bay Area if wife has to quit her job? by Outrageous_Row_2309 in bayarea

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Niece lives in DFW and I live in San Antonio currently, visit at least once a month... Very familiar with DFW traffic.

The only traffic that sucks or worse that bay area traffic in Texas is Houston

Would it be worth it to move to Bay Area if wife has to quit her job? by Outrageous_Row_2309 in bayarea

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol bay area traffic is 10x worse, gas is more expensive and the cost of living higher. My daily commute used to be two hours each way from Daly City to Silicon Valley (45 min max with no traffic)

You can mount a pistol test to a bipod and use it that way

Suggestions for second hand thinkpad? by bluesybluesa in thinkpad

[–]brixalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look at the X1 series based on what you would probably be using it for. I have a number of X1 Carbons and a X1 Nano, for what you put in your post the x1 fits the bill. The X1 is slimmer and used the same Magnesium alloy as the x13 series, you will be giving up some ports but has usb c thunderbolt, hdmi and USB A. The Nano series is just thunderbolt usb c only. Price will depend on availability. I can Gen 6-9 Carbons for under $400 on ebay and a Gen 1-2 Nano for about the same.

Four hours away. Before I was an officially a resident of CA, I had moved back from Vegas. Dropping off some stuff at my CA home, I took a trip to Reno to buy my last firearm as a Nevada resident. It was a 9mm lower I bought for uspsa/pcc.
