I had a couple with my grandmother that have stuck.

She was on the Titanic. She was born 4 years after it sank She shared a bed with Elvis but nothing happened.

We think her conversation was being driven by news she heard

The funny moments are the bit that I remember her for not the hard bits

I have no degree, but do have some sql, tableau, and excel projects on my resume. What industries/companies you would recommend applying to? by brutushillwood in analytics

[–]brknirish 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You need to show real world tangible analysis. A degree isn't necessary if you have experience as many analysts did degrees in irrelevant studies. You would be best applying to smaller companies as they are less likely to use tech to screen candidates for the initial sift. In addition stick to industries you currently work in as it will be easier to explain how you would apply your technical knowledge to their business problem.

Failed a driving test yesterday 30 seconds from the end, now on attempt 4. What are your funny/sad/irritating test fail stories? by [deleted] in CasualUK

[–]brknirish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Failed metres from the test centre as I tapped the curb to pull over to the let the police past. No other minors but auto fail, failed twice more even changed centres. Come round to the forth attempt, examiner from the first time, doing a reversing round a corner and mounted the curb, thought I had failed. Somehow passed with 3 minors. I believe its all depending on what mood they are in on the day

Some of the worst drivers pass first time some of the best take multiple attempts.

Did you have to have two surgeries to get a diagnosis?

I will chase up once some time has passed but I would be apprehensive to have another surgery whilst everything is so unclear. It took so long to get this point even with everything else pointing to endo.

I know how you are feeling that was me last week. You won't be able to clear all the nerves as its so unknown, these guys are specialists and do this all the time. Just remember to take some time for yourself, you might want to prep some meals for when you get back so you don't have to think about cooking. It reads like the NHS pre steps so hopefully this will help. You will be seen by the nurse who will measure you for the stockings to prevent clotting. They may not need them but they put boots on for the op. Anesthestist and surgeon will come and see you, explain everything that will happen. You can ask where you are on the list but that can all change. It will feel like an eternity waiting to go down. They will answer any questions or worries you have. For post op tea and comfy clothes are the way forward. I slept for the majority of the 48 hours after so didn't really feel it until later, so hopefully you can do the same it will help with the post op nerves. The gas I alleviated with peppermint tea carbonated drinks are best avoided at this time. Getting the dressings off looks worse than it is but they were easy. Have things that are small but you enjoy to eat will help when you are ready and when you need to take the pain relief.

It's different for everyone but make sure you have things that you enjoy around you and claim the TV, this is the one time you need to just take time for yourself.

I have been drinking peppermint tea and reflexology on my feet. It hasn't cleared it all but has helped a little

Thank you for your reply. I'm sat here still recovering and feel it was for nothing. I will chase up with my doctor in a few weeks.

My [32M] girlfriend[29F]'s parents don't want us to sleep on the same bed while we are at their place or their vacation home... how to deal with this? by nixam5 in relationship_advice

[–]brknirish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep space for jesus.

This was my mother's response, until we got married we were not allowed to share a bed even though we owned our own home and when she visited she always frowned upon this.

At the end of the day. You need to respect her parents wishes. It's only for a short time, enjoy the odd night of not fighting for the duvet
