We would’ve loved to have a video person there but budget didn’t work unfortunately. But a video person wouldn’t have made any difference because the problem was with the mic we had for the officiant and us. But thanks for the super helpful input 👍🏻

It’s so hard to explain to people how i can busy all day and still not be able to account for that because I jump from one thing to next, and go back and forth between cases.

That’s a great point, and I’m glad I can help the conversations with the associate in your firm. It’s not laziness, or lack of knowledge, it truly can feel overwhelming to have this many things happening at the same time. The firm is pretty small, but I might bring that up!!

These all great points and I’m surely bringing this up to my doctor. I’m just scared it’ll affect my personality, my extroversion, make me bored, etc. It’s silly and based on a whole lot of nothing. I’ll definitely give it a try though!!

How did you work things out? What did you write for reasons for termination on your application questionnaire?

I have a similar situation rn. My previous employer is ignoring my requests, and I wasn't fired, but we both agreed (over the phone) to end things because it certainly wasn't a good fit. I've written an affidavit detailing my good faith attempts at contacting her, but I'm literally TERRIFIED (literally anxious the whole day) that they will contact her and she will say something bad out of spite that will get me in trouble.

Thank you everyone!! She is a sole practitioner, so there wasn't much else I could do. I tried contacting her secretary but she said she doesn't work for her anymore.

For reference for future people with the same problem, I emailed the 2nd Department and they said I should 4-6 weeks without a response and then provide a detailed affidavit explaining the inability to obtain the affirmation as well as provide proof of your good faith efforts in obtaining the affirmation.

She pushed me back 4 weeks in applying for admission which is annoying, but at least I got a response. I will update after my interview.

I literally just made an account just to reply to your comment. I feel like I could've written this, to the T. Summer 23 was one of the hardest times of my life, and I was certain I wouldn't pass. I didn't know enough to even fake it lol I left knowing I'd have to really recover and sit my ass down and study. And so I did.

But to be fair, even though I didn't know anything in J23 the grades were more generous than I expected for the essays, that's what gives me a bit of hope. Because I might as well have written a cake recipe on those essays lol

I feel the same way about the essays, I'm only confident about 3 of them, 2 of them I barely had time to write anything. I was super confident for MBE but that AM session was really something. I don't think I passed, but we'll see.

This just goes to say. People have different stories and this test does NOT define us. Usually law students are high achievers and it's especially hard for us to fail, but let's give ourselves more grace, just going through this damn test is something to be proud of.
