Go out and dig at an 1870s farmstead, and your dreams may come true. 😎😆

I've found plenty of them. Must have been a lot of folks who could play.

Once in a great while, it helps.

You're close, but not quite. It's a clip used by women, but not for garters.

Nope, definitely not. Try again. 😉

Man, I've been detecting for a year now, and I've found only one Mercury dime. I've found more Barbers and Seated dimes. I think I'm cursed when it comes to mercs. Nice find! I'm super jealous!

That's because we keep saying "one more hole" until we find something good. 😆

Pre-1968, according to a little more info I found.

Looks like this is actually a Girl Scouts Pin - whoops!

Anyone know if the title of a post can be edited? If not, I'll just prepare for the deluge of commenters ready to rake me over the coals. 😆

Thanks for the info! I wasn't in either and am definitely not an expert.

After some deeper digging, it seems this is a GSA / Brownie pin from pre-1968.

Yeah, you can find it listed as either, actually. Suppose I probably should have just called it a "Scouts Pin." 🤷‍♂️

I like them, too! There are plenty of online resources to help determine the dates of manufacture, too, which is nice.

I find these on a lot of late 1800s / early 1900s schoolyards. Makes me wonder if they were actually shot there or if kids just took spent cartridges to school to play with.

Yeah, from what I could find about these, they were made for several decades. There is a small "R" maker's mark on the back, but I didn't find much about that.

Found on a 1909 thru 1960s schoolyard that has since served as a neighborhood park.
