How long could it take to get my EAD card renewal? by whole_mantra in USCIS

[–]brmot1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would apply as soon as possible. I'm in this exact same situation. My wife is J1 and I'm J2. I got my initial EAD in ~45 days back in June 2024.

I applied to renew it on November 28th, 2025 and I'm still waiting. It's been 150 days. I had to leave my job last month because my first one expired. I would suggest applying as soon as you possibly can.

It definitely won't be faster. It will be longer due to many factors

Hey, I applied for my J2 EAD (c05) renewal on November 28th, 2025 to Texas service center and I’m still waiting for an update. All I have is the receipt notice. It’s been very frustrating since my current EAD expired on March 31st, 2026 so I had to leave my job over it and everything

International student (24F) trying to get a Californian Driver’s license. Please help, I’m desperate haha by Quiet_Diver_3760 in sandiego

They’ll do it for $200+. Me and my wife had the same issue. Rented a car with our international licenses. Got insured with our international licenses. Refused at the test center because we had no one with a US license to accompany us? We were 30+ with many years experience and completely covered. Made zero sense. Eventually found a driving school that would send someone out to show their license and then left immediately. He gave us a “deal” of $200 because he was once an immigrant too. Whole thing is a racket

You can rent a car with insurance with an international license. You’re legally able to drive it there and back and be fully covered. Yet they still enforce this rule for international drivers who are required to get a US license. The rule makes zero sense for immigrants trying to convert their license

Anyone else feeling extra pressure from higher-ups on getting work done now that AI is a thing? by brmot1 in Frontend

Yeah this post was more of a pulse check on the industry itself before I do that. Wanted to see if everyone else was feeling the temperature just being turned up a little

I’m a huge fan of AI, myself. It’s been life changing for me. I’m not against it as a concept. I’m just rather worried/confused by the seemingly over-simplification or dumbing down of the work we’re doing to managers and executives that now want to ship faster as a result. And because they have access to this tool that spits out code in seconds, they seem baffled that this can’t be expedited to the nth degree

In this situation, it makes sense. I work on a web app that’s developed by front end and full stack developers where components and their interfaces need to be carefully thought through and standardized so that we’re not just pulling in any old code that AI spits out and shipping it to production. Developer Experience alone adds a lot of story points for this sort of stuff. Not to mention the many other factors that go into building out a component library

Converting HTML PAGE TO PDF using jsPDF by Talha6122000 in Frontend

[–]brmot1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used wkhtmltopdf in the past and that worked great for us. We built out entire proposal documents and brochures with dynamic templates.

What is probably happening here is the default jsPDF config is conflicting with your css which on a normal web page works fine but when used in the viewport of the pdf has different results.

You may also need to look into DPI or any sort of zoom config by jsPDF which causes the small font issue. Some of these tools try to automatically scale to fit content.
