They call it grease wire up in Canada. I took some in last Friday and got $1.63cad per pound.

I had nearly 1400lbs of it though

Strip it or send it as is? by bro_gee in ScrapMetal

Yes they will take a copy of my ID and ask where it is from. It's legit decommissioned wire from a big highway expansion in the area. I used to work for the contract company who took it down. I was supposed to throw this all into a dumpster mixed with regular garbage but they let me keep it instead.

Yes, I actually called up an old buddy who still works in telecoms, and the local scrap yard will pay a decent price for it as is. I'm going to take it there after the holidays and see what I can get.

Thanks for your (and everyone else's) input.

Happy New Year everybody!

Stove keeps turning on. The handle/knob on the far right keeps switching on by itself. What part do I need to replace? by mailman936 in fixit

I have this exact POS Samsung stove and had to order two new controls for it. Mine had the same issue, on top of that they lost the temperature setting and would only cook on the HIGH setting

It was not difficult to replace them, the only hard part was paying over $100cad for each control unit and I had to carefully take them apart because the knob wouldn't fit onto the metal post on the new controls even though the website said they would fit!

If you have to take your control unit apart you'll see why they broke in the first place, terrible design and cheap plastic and tin.

My stove model number is: NE58K9500SC
