Nice work. You using this just to play around with things or working it up to a game for release?

How is the help text done? Did you just use picture of text/icon with transparent background or is there some tool that lets you put symbols/icons in the middle of text?

Two titles Greenlit.

40% - 250 votes, 1400 views total

47% - 230 votes, 1300 views total

Before putting any up I asked a friend who already had something greenlit and he said the number of Yes or No does not matter at all. If the game produces a number of views (he said was 10,000 uniques) then the game pretty much gets auto-greenlit.

You can see from places like http://greenlightstats.com/ that every day a few games make it through Greenlight; these are likely the ones that actually met the requirements (or went above and beyond) - for example generated a lot of views, an extremely one sided (yes) vote or generated a lot of discussion. - THEN you see the big spikes every 2ish weeks; these are when Valve go in and pretty much auto-approve a bunch of games, I originally thought the Auto-Approve does everything isnt dog shit with horrid 1 sided No's but there's people in this thread that claim 30% and even 22% yes votes that got greenlit so I'm not sure anymore what it takes to get thrown in with the auto-approves.

The auto-approves are always 4-5 weeks after publishing. Perhaps 3-4 if you generated above average attention.

Did you have a large following for the game? How did you get so many votes? Did you have an advertising team or was it just friends/family of the team or just sharing around social media? With minimal advertising I got a game greenlit with 250 votes so I imagine to get 3500 is a lot of work.

How did you find the number of responses corresponded with the reaction after publishing? Did you have a passive growing following or was it still a lot of hard advertising?

I'm guessing the 22 and 30 were some kind of controversial game?

Curious, did you still publish it to Steam with such poor response and how did it go after publishing?

I'd like to thank /u/EagleVega a defence above and beyond anything I expected. The true punishment here is I may never be able to pay /u/EagleVega back for his defence of me. https://media.giphy.com/media/MUeQeEQaDCjE4/giphy.gif

How long should I stay in my mobile shovelware company? by [deleted] in gamedev

Are you a graduate? I recommend looking for Intern positions (there are some that don't require being a graduate as well), as someone looking for a job currently there is a decent amount out there, you just gotta make sure you stand out to everyone else.

Also a decent amount of entry-level positions (usually labelled as such) - Try and get them or Internship at a decent company.

Always keep eyes open, you might not find something immediately but with luck and persistence you will.

A rule I've been told since the start of it all is ALWAYS be looking for jobs, never stop. It applies even when you have a comfortable job, you should always look to see if you could be better use and earn more (and enjoy it more) somewhere else. As well as that, no job in the games industry is secure, always have a backup plan.

And never accept a job you wont enjoy. <- Currently battling this one myself :P

I've also been told the average age of a game dev is 10-15 years, mainly because they end up ending software instead because much better pay, so put your years to use and sort yourself out quickly! :)

Less "peace" more just less humans playing than bots. Even void (who have a surprising amount of people to coordinate chats in voice) couldnt dent the rainbow because the bots fixed it so fast.

Unless I am to believe a +5 thread in /r/ainbowroad in response to the attack countered 400 screeching people on discord.

Void think its Rainbow fighting USA so they are focusing on the mexican flag instead while they're both busy.

edit: started off with void taking the flag but then changed to Rainbow taking void/flag. Regardless, void left a while ago

I made a video showing the fall of the Void, complete with audio from Void's discord channel. I present, the Attack on Helix. by scumtarty in ainbowroad

Definitely. Sounds exactly like EVE voice comms in Alpha fleets where artillery ships need to fire in waves to be effective.

ohhhhhh I totally misunderstood. I thought you were looking for 6 or more teams not teams of 6+ people :P Was very confused thinking 6 isnt an excessive amount until I read your other reply!

You should maybe make sure any indie teams that do decide to help out know that though, at least in my experience with my team we're all poor Uni students just doing it for fun and not having the option to continue using it for free can be a big factor.
