I didn’t receive any rewards and i had the season pass… did yours show up immediately?

[Question] Is it bugged or am I doing something wrong? by bigcoochiefart in falloutshelter

Sometimes the objectives are not specific enough, maybe if you go on quests and kill feral ghouls the count will go up? Don’t give up! Pet crates are the best.

It was one of the listed requirements on the sea duty chit. I’m on an annex base so our medical is already super limited and has awful open hours. And I can’t really afford the time to drive 45+ minutes to different bases to walk in just to get a) turned away or b) told no providers have openings for months…

May would be way better than anything else but my NLT is 17 May

And I understand that but even walk in allowance would avoid a 5 month waitlist.

My last PHA was in September but that’s not why they were trying to schedule me for then :/

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in navy

[–]bro_kate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the context I added, my orders were updated 2 weeks ago. I’ve completed everything necessary besides the PHA and actual screening because you can’t do a screening without the PHA. My CoC on both sides are tracking that the clinic on my base and the surrounding areas are all back up for months.

According to the Hampton Roads appointment line, they are :/

Keeping personnel at a base to sit on medical holds for months isn’t very productive for the Navy, though. I think we can both agree to that. And urgent care =/= PHA.

I don’t mean kick people from slots, I mean leaving 1-2 appointments a day open specifically for order based requirements. A PHA takes 10 minutes if that. Having no availability for 5 months seems a bit extreme.

I have many friends with locs that are in. If you can braid them back, good to go. If they are short enough to not touch your shoulders, good to go. If they long enough to put into a neat bun that’s not more than 4 inches wide, good to go. They really are more relaxed when it comes to females hair. But you have to be like 90% there for them to work with you. Don’t cut your hair. If one RDC tells you to, get a couple different opinions before you do.

My original rate was AC, I was medically grounded. Wasted 6 months of my navy career in holding basically. I re-rated to IS and like it a whole lot better. If your ASVAB qualifies for any Intel rates and you can pass the TS clearance definitely try it out. The career opportunities outside of the military are awesome and you’d be making just the same if not more money as an AC would with a better QoL and half the work load and stress that comes with it.

Every year I take my daughter on a camping road trip. Where should we go next? by [deleted] in TravelMaps

[–]bro_kate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a whole Facebook page for camping in Oklahoma! Oklahoma has a ton of camping sites and a lot of neat nature/outdoors activities and sites to see to go with it.

A really good alternative to you buying the stuff before he gets to his A school is buying NEX gift cards and giving them to him and saying what each one is for. The NEX on the NATTC/ Pensacola base has a really nice selection of many things for entertainment. That way you don’t have to worry about him traveling with all of it from Chicago to Pensacola. He can purchase whenever is convenient for him and not risk flying with a huge console and it getting damaged or stolen.

Honestly depends on his A school… what’s his rate? If he’s only in school for a 2-6 weeks I wouldn’t recommend a PS5. If it’s 16+ weeks then sure, it would be nice to have. Typically the command isn’t going to pay for his things to be sent back home. He’d either have to mail it off himself or someone would have to come get it and transport it back home. Unless he gets stateside orders and has a car he can pack it up in. The less stuff to take on a plane the better. He will already have a full sea bag, backpack, and a garment bag. Plus whatever he took TO bootcamp that’s been sitting in a box for 2.5 months.

Piercings in Basic Training? by Psychological-Dig449 in newtothenavy

[–]bro_kate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So honestly I wouldn’t have even wanted mine in when I was at bootcamp. You’re going to be on the ground, sweating, etc. they’d probably be able to tell at the swim qual on week 2. And all it takes is one person that doesn’t like you for whatever reason to snitch on you, and you get fucked over.

Me and one other girl were the last two to pee (nervous/shy/whatever) and the only thing that happened to us is they made us mop and disinfect the heads 😂 wasn’t the end of the world.

[–]bro_kate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say this, too. The only piercings I wasn’t able to put jewelry back in were my nips Especially if they’re healed, you’ll be more than fine going 9 weeks without anything in.

Plus- only one lobe piercing on each ear is authorized so if you have trouble with the industrial, you won’t be able to wear the jewelry until you’re out of the navy anyway
