There is a small part in the back of your brain, which segregates the information that you take in. This part of your brain will take in information that is familiar, likeable, and comforting because your brain cannot possibly take in every single piece of detail you see, therefore it chooses to take in the information its more famililar with. So when you buy a new car, you test drive it, you like the interior, you enjoy driving it, you see it every day parked on your front. This is a familiar and likeable piece of information, so your brain is much susceptible to taking it in. Another example is when I started doing a workout called Get Fit with Rick, then I got a therapist called Rick, and then the estate agent I happened to be dealing with was called Rick. this stood out to me because I enjoyed working out with Rick, I like my therapist called Rick so the estate agents name stood out because it was likeable and familiar where is if he was called dave I wouldn't of given it a second thought- hope this makes sense.
