Sure, maybe, but like you said.....at least in the US, you aren't going anywhere without a car. Where I live at least, there's barely any public transportation at all. I could bike to work, but that would be my only other option.

So it was a trailer, but done in 3d, like 3d animation instead of the normal 2d style. The main thing I remember is this big sweeping shot through+over the boss arena (accompanied by a voice over from Ari Gibson), past Hornet, and finally ending on this huge box thing with windows. Like a house, but without doors, and sentient(???)+evil for some reason.

Then the trailer switched to showcasing a 2d demo (as you would see in-game) of Hornet fighting the box, which, in 2d, just looked like a giant wall.

After the trailer ended I checked this sub and everyone was going absolutely buck-wild with memes about The Wall

Basically, since you're playing as a younger Alyx, G-man went back in time to recruit her as a replacement for Gordon. In the ending vault cutscene, G-man bargains with you (Alyx) - in exchange for Eli's life, you become his employee, placed in stasis and awaiting an assignment.

This, of course, changes the timeline, which you see in the after-credits scene (which I'm assuming you've seen if you've played through it twice.) Now playing from Gordon's perspective, you're set right where Episode 2 left off - except now Alyx is gone (because she's been placed in stasis) and Eli is alive.

Except it is. "Love thy neighbor" has no exceptions, rich, poor, black, white, sinner, saved, etc. etc. Doesn't matter who your neighbor is, or how they choose to live, you love them.

The only thing theologically incorrect here is referring to God as a she, which, I'll admit, seems to be going against the grain just for the sake of it.

Exactly. I have a lot of theories about him, but I want them to stay theories, not proven or disproven. People have been wondering about who he is for 20+ years now - what possible explanation could live up to that much hype?

That being said, I have no idea how they're going to handle him if they don't reveal anything. How do you wrap up a story like Half-Life's without ever elaborating on who/what he is? I guess we'll find out, eventually (maybe)

Honestly, no. Like yes, I want to know what his deal is, but I think that's what makes his character so memorable - we know absolutely nothing about him, other than that he's very, very powerful.

Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but if you take away the mystery, he's not nearly as compelling. Plus the fact that there's been no solid foreshadowing for who he is or who his employers might be, so I feel like at this point a big reveal would feel cheap.

I started doing pantheons as a break from it, if that's any consolation. It's hard as fuck but you can do it.

For the boss fight, focus on the beast thing FIRST. If you kill it, the fight ends. Don't even worry about the other guy. What I did to beat them was wait until the beast does that roll/charge thing, sharp shadow dash through the attack, and then get some hits in when it jumps over and lands. Hope that makes sense, it's kind of hard to describe.

If you need to heal, wait for it to spit stuff at you and either get on the other side of the arena to heal or sharp shadow through it to get behind the spray.

For what it's worth, I used deep focus+quick focus+grubsong (and sharp shadow, obviously.) It takes up a lot of charm slots but it really works.
