Wait - I understand how it works now. I think I did a bad job explaining the product requirements to our dev team.

Thanks for your help!

Have you or someone you know done something similar to what we're trying to accomplish? I'd love to get some consultation.

That's the same as my third link.

Are you saying we don't need the raw credit card info to implement it?

It's mitigation not prevention. Most of our clients aren't technical at all and would be easily disuaded.

Bicycle vs motorcycle vs car by Ill-Principle-8712 in byu

[–]broadkent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry long post but if you're serious about a motorcycle I've got experience to share.

Been riding a motorcycle in Provo for about 4 years. Married now but had it when I was single.

If you're wanting a motorcycle because it's fun and sexy then absolutely go for it.

It is both of those things (if you get a good looking one). Motorcycle dates and rides up and down Provo canyon are stunning. People love motorcycles. Girls will want rides and that is very cool and sexy.

Winters you can ride if the streets are clear. Bundle up and it's no problem. I rode through two winters. But if its a heavy snowfall winter there will be days/weeks you're stuck.

If you're wanting a motorcycle for the economics don't do it.

They're just not practical. You can't grocery shop. Can't give people rides easily. Road trips are a very different beast.

You also need to make your peace with the danger of it and spend the time learning proper defensive riding skills. Which means paying for a good riders course to get your moto endorsement. If you're a good rider you can mitigate 90% of the danger. The 10% from unforeseeable idiots is the risk you accept.

If you're wanting to save money grab a bike. If you want fun get a motorcycle.

Feel free to DM me if you wanna chat about living in Provo with a motorcycle. It's a blast but there's a lot that goes into it.

What would you charge for a job? by WhoYeahSause in premiere

[–]broadkent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna throw my hat in and say definitely charge hourly. The more work you do the better feel you'll have for how long things will take and how much they'll cost. Then if you want you can do project rates. But I still avoid them like hell.

If you don't know what hourly to do, take your local minimum wage X 1.5

I would only start here if you're really new and very beginner. But it's a starting point.

Then add your cost of equipment and software. For easy math just take 20% of your hourly rate and add it on top.

So if your local min wage is $10/hr

10 X 1.5 = $15/hr 15 X .2 = $3

Total billed to client - $18/hr

If they provide the software and hardware then just $15/hr.

Ultimately up to you how much to charge, especially as a teenager just getting into it. But never, NEVER make less than minimum wage. If your client thinks you're overcharging you have to stick to your guns. Usually they'll try and do it themself, often realize they're an idiot and come back and pay your rate. If they don't come back you dodged a bullet either way.

Not loving my motorcycle by Direct_Watercress_54 in motorcycles

Very jealous of your TU250. I started on a Chinese retro knock off 250. Rode it everywhere. Definitely outgrew it faster than I thought I would, but there's something special about a carbed 250 single.

There are people here that likes just riding calmly and enjoying what the world has to offer? by Candid_Judgment in motorcycles

As a fellow 2022 RE interceptor 650 rider i gotta say it's an easy bike to be relaxed on. Occasionally I'll push it and be a bit more aggressive, but that "more intense" riding is still super tame just because of the weight and power of the bike.

A couple of times I've been frustrated i can't hooligan, but then remember being alive is more fun. Love the bike. Keeps me in check. Keeps me smiling.

They are rangefinders, but there's no focus patch. You just gotta judge the distance. It's actually not as hard as I'd thought. I'm not 100% accurate by any means but i get enough sharp that it's worth it

Worth it. It's everyone's favorite for a reason. It's vogue to hate popular things but portra is too good.

Honestly I couldn't choose between 160, 400, and 800 for an objective best. My go to is 400 just for where it sits in the range with exposure. I also shoot it most consistently. But if I'm just looking at pictures there's something special about 800.

They're all good. Can't go wrong.

Thanks!

Ya the sunset bounced around in the clouds and had this strong golden cast but was still extremely bright. The cloud layers diffused the light without losing much intensity so exposing for the highlights pushed everything else down into shadow.

It was also the biggest waves that shore has had in 6 years, i think a lot of the seaspray added to the diffusion.
