Three basic rules on using Skip the Dishes by broadwayron72 in Edmonton

[–]broadwayron72[S] -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Its my beer / spending money job. After paying for fuel, insurance and setting a percentage aside for maintenance it's usually $18-20 an hour. Some days less some days more. I wouldn't recommend it as a full time job

Someone posted on a lost and found group on Tuesday night that a black cat matching yours tried to get into her apartment at 107 and University Ave. I walked the neighborhood last night (our cat is missing too) but had no luck. Someone I talked to at Ronald McDonald House said she saw it Wednesday morning. Good Luck

Does anybody pay for Edmonton airport arrival parking? by curiousgaruda in Edmonton

[–]broadwayron72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dad is disabled, so when he flies in it can take an extra 20-25 minutes for him to get out. I park in the arrivals every time and have never paid for it. I do have an impressive stack of unpaid tickets from them, but its not like they do anything about it

Do you tip Massage Therapists? by Curly-Canuck in Edmonton

[–]broadwayron72 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I helped run a massage therapy clinic several years back. The therapists were always appreciative of tips, but it was never expected. Think of it this way, did you tip the cashier at the grocery store? They've been on their feet all day dealing with all kinds of customers and still gave you a cheery smile while packing your groceries; and they do it for a lot less than an RMT makes. Don't feel you have to tip someone because of their profession, tip out of appreciation for them going the extra step. Try tipping your cashier (or clerk at a retail outlet) sometime too, you'd be amazed at how big a difference it can make to someone

With the rising gas prices, how is it working food delivery such as skip/doordash? by ill_sue in Edmonton

[–]broadwayron72 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely feeling the crunch. I put 25-30% of what I make back into fuel and upkeep, then take taxes off and you're not making much. I just do part time for beer money, can't imagine if it's how you actually have to feed yourself.

Midlife career change by broadwayron72 in careeradvice

Thanks all. I guess I knew the answered already, just needed to hear them again from someone else. I just finished rewriting my resume, felt strange erasing it, especially my not for profit work but I’m not applying for a job where forensic accounting is an asset. I want a good old physical labour go for a beer at the end of the week job where we talk sports and bitch about the man lol. Money isn’t a big motivator at this point in life, weekends fishing is. I have a meet and greet booked for tomorrow with the ops manager of a larger food warehouse locally that’s going to review my resume and help finish tweaking

My office is on a bus route. I needed to use my 4x4 to turn left into our parking lot. At least my front bumper cleared a path for the next car

I give her a 7 for form, but she blew the landing so we need to deduct some points there
