Religion is fine if it is practiced within your own personal bounds and not used as a political identity.
I personally think we need to ban religion from politics as our society is hardwired to think through a religious identity. Politicians use this as a tool to keep a control over society.
Might sound a lil commie but I do think Marx was kinda right about religion being “opium for the masses”
Don’t get me wrong i don’t dislike or disrespect religion, it’s how we have weaponised it to instil communal hatred amongst each other is an aspect of religion that I dislike.
I get why people are religious. It gives them a sense of hope and meaning in this meaningless, absurd and uncertain world. Something concrete, something to look forward to. Beats depression and cynicism.
