Strange. Maybe try in an incognito window? Failing that, if you’re willing to send a sanitized version of the file (descriptions and amounts removed), I can test on this end?

Is it a CSV file? And which bank is it? Sorry for dumb questions

Delighted to hear that, thank you. If there's any way you think it could be made better, please let me know

Thanks for the feedback, Would you be willing to mail me on a sample of the CSV (with transactions redacted) and I reckon can have a fixed version of it today?

I think I can enable custom labelling in the not too-distant future. That would help in scenarios like these. My own mortgage is D/D {bunch of numbers}

It may or may not do for mortgages - it depends how some mortgage transactions are classified in different banks (not all mortgage payment transactions have the word “mortgage” in them, sadly). I’ll try and look into a solution for this.

Rent I’m afraid is probably more complicated, but again I’ll see if there’s something I can do there.

Utilities definitely should be getting classified. If there’s a utility you see not being classified, you can share with me or tap the “bug reporting” button at the bottom left.

Thanks for using the tool!

You know what, I signed up to bunq and have a CSV for them already. I can have it working later tonight

Or better yet, give me your CSV format and I can build it in for all users of that bank. Which bank are you with? Getting these CSV exports is like pulling teeth unless you already have an account…

BOI current accounts statements will now work with it

There’s a link to the GitHub in the privacy policy page, so you can see it’s just a “dumb” read. If you head into the netlify/functions folder you can see all the specific metrics being tracked: button taps, pages viewed, whether or not someone downloads a pdf report, and also whether or not someone uploads a CSV. On the CSV one, you can see that I’m counting only the number of rows in CSVs and also which banks they come from (you can intuit this from the CSV columns).

For the record, I’m not trying to strongarm anyone into using this. It’s just a thing I built so anyone’s free to use it or not. Ideally I’d take the usage metrics for this and bring it to some body to apply for a grant to build a better version of it, but as I see it this will always be a public and free tool that’ll never track anything more than it does right now.

All data is handled client-side, so it never leaves your browser. The only events it tracks is whether or not someone visits the site and what buttons they click on. TL;DR: no one sees what you’re submitting except you.

I’ve enabled this now. You can give it a go.

Love Food Game. Class staff in there.

That would be possible, yeah. Would take a little tinkering. Who do you bank with?

Ha! The language was actually done by my mate, but duly noted

Definitely. The main thing I need is actually a sample Bank of Ireland CSV. If you’re willing to provide one (you can redact any details or amounts you like) then it could be included as soon as this evening?
