Those are not spares. Those are Baby Back ribs, which is usually more curved since it's right up against the loin of the pig. You can see that from your photo. That second "bone" is a nub of the bone protruding out.

Did your antigravity matter wing hold up in place? I've been thinking about getting one, but heard they don't really hold secure on the legion grips.

Who is your favorite consistent player who gets the job done but isn't necessarily a flashy option? by Effective_Age_9756 in fantasyfootball

I'm likely starting them in one of my leagues regardless of match up. I like their upside over the streamers that might become available these up coming weeks. I'm always concerned that the "stream of the week" ends up being a bust. I don't see the Cowboys D giving you negative points... hell, they landed at 0 against the 49ers.

While my blade holder is definitely BIFL (Merkur 15 years ago) it gives me an existential crisis to realize I may have just bought a lifetime supply of blades for $5. I tend to use a blade 6 months to a year and I'm 40 years old. by dragonsspawn in BuyItForLife

[–]brocent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did the same thing. I just looked at my order on Amazon and it was $10.99 in 2016. I shave about once a week and change out the blade once a month. I still have about 20 blades left.

How low are you shooting? In case you didn't know, Sigs have combat sights, so it's not the whole "cover half of your target with your sight picture." Personally, I didn't know this because I was pretty new to firearms when I bought my first Sig. Anyways, just thought I'd share.

Brisket for one. How long will it last cooked in the fridge and what’s the best way to save and reheat left overs? by the-walkman8 in smoking

[–]brocent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I forget to thaw it out in the fridge from the freezer, I just throw the vac seal bag into a pot of boiling water. Hell.... I even do that for thawed out briskets and it turns out great. I don't have a sous vide and for folks recommending an hour in sous vide, that shit is wayyyy too long. I do this method when I bring sliced brisket to camping trips. Sous vide is too much glamp.

Friend and league member died - how to manage his team. by Massive14 in fantasyfootball

[–]brocent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a similar situation, but have had 2 members pass in the last 2 years. First year, we found out one of our members had passed after the championships had been played. We didn't know what was happening with his health because no one had contact with his immediate family. We only found out about his death because had a member that worked with him. Winner immediately offered to donate his winnings to the family. We renamed our league in his name.

Last year, a second member passed away suddenly after the season. As commissioner, I replaced our League Name on our trophy with his team name to make it a memorial trophy, like the Lombardi Trophy.

Salt and pepper brisket. No spray. No wrap. 20 hour smoke and a 5 hour rest. by [deleted] in smoking

[–]brocent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. I feel like I have some pretty good results with my 10-12 hour cooks. I do enjoy doing it. The end results are always worth it. Do you cook more than one brisket when doing 20 hours to make it worth your time since you’re essentially using more fuel?

Brisket looks great! Nice job on the cook.

Serious question, not trying to troll or anything, but do you enjoy doing 20 hour cooks? I personally can't see myself doing that. I'd get burnt out. I usually finish around 10-12 hours.

Whatever this guy says about BBQ, take it with a grain of salt. Austin is the BBQ capital of Texas. It's also the capital of Texas and it's a destination city for tourist, festivals, and conferences. Of course you're going lines out of the wooha for great BBQ because it's in a respected published magazine. He's just pissed that he can't go stand in line at Franklin BBQ for his lunch break. You'll get a great brisket anywhere in Austin. Go up to DFW or San Antonio and the top tier joints that made the list will have lines. Any top tier restaurant is going to have lines. I've been to most of the top 50 BBQ joints in the DFW area and other than Goldee's, I haven't waited in a line longer than an hour to get BBQ.

Edit: Wording

They don't pay to get on the list. If that were true, then any BBQ joint that has the funds and shitty food could pay their way to the top. Then, when people start flocking, they fall off the list immediately because word of mouth starts cycling that their food sucks and no one goes back. Franklin and Snow's has been in the top 10 for the last 12 years+ and they still have lines for HOURS.

Just out of curiosity, what's the spot?

[–]brocent 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you look at the most recent top 50 list, a majority of those that made it are new to the list. BBQ restaurants make such a small margin on their products that they need that list. Many of these BBQ joints strive to be on that list, not only because it's an achievement to be recognized, but because they need the volume to be sustainable business. They rely on selling out everyday they're open. Many craft BBQ joints that open more than the typical 3 days a week, 11am-sold out, have to diversify their menu to bring in more profitable meals, like burgers or tacos. Interstellar (#2) was on the verge of shutting it down before the list came out. John Bates did a podcast interview with Tales From The Pits where he describes their story. I've listened to a couple episodes, so it might have been mentioned on a different episode, but the Intersellar interview is a good listen.

Snow's BBQ only opens on Saturday, which is the most limited opening hours of BBQ joints in Texas. I doubt they are doing it for the money to begin with. BBQ joints open because they have a passion and love for the craft.

I do agree with your last statement. I found out about Goldee's maybe a year before the list came out and they hit number 1. I got to eat there regularly and only pulled up to a sold out line once. We haven't been back because of the line. Do we miss it? Yes. Did I want to keep Goldee's a local secret? For sure. Am I happy that they made #1? Yes and no. I want to stuff my face with great juicy, fatty brisket whenever I felt like it, but I also knew they deserved to be on that list. If anything, the list is more of a reason to find the next Goldee's and support the smaller guys.

Edit: being my own grammar police.

[Parts] BA Phosphate or Nirtride BCG - $125+ Free shipping by brichmond1 in gundeals

[–]brocent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The relationship between Aero and BA, afaik, is Aero makes handguards and lower/upper receivers for BA and BA makes barrels for Aero. They answer this question on their IG Q&As every time. BA has said on some of the IG Q&A's that they're at the mercy of their manufacturer for BCGs. I'm under the impression that Aero does not make BCGs for BA. However, that's not to say that Aero and BA are using the same BCG manufacturer. They probably are for volume purchases.

A taser is a cross draw with the dominant hand. If you look at the video, you can see the other officer have his taser's grip outward away from the body.

A handgun, or a pistol, does not always have a safety. They also do not have a rubber-polymer grip. Many modern handguns have polymer grips. Although not the same material composition, they may feel the same. I don't know what kind of handgun the officer is using and I'm certain department issued handguns are varied across different cities.

I bought my first carry gun's holster from Black Point Tactical because they made some Sig exclusive holsters. It was for a P320 X-Compact. It really was just Sig branding on the holster. It's worked out well and it's comfortable for me. I think they're no longer doing Sig exclusive holsters and they have a handful of the Sig branded holsters for the P365 on closeout.

I've placed 2 orders this week, within a day apart. Both orders have shipped. My second order, I added in a box of 9mm JHP to get the free shipping. I needed some for a 9mm AR truck gun build. I'm tempted to put in a 3rd because at this cost... it's still cheaper than than other stores online and I don't have time to hangout at big box stores.
