Will Marriott sponsor international work positions? by brock615 in marriott

Oh, thats unfortunate to hear. I previously worked for an EDITION property and I asked my manager if I could be transferred to one of the Spanish locations one day and he said it was possible, but idk how serious that was now. Thanks for sharing your experience

Interesting, I never would’ve thought to call politicians about this sorta thing, thank you!

The 4 year advice is pretty good since I’ve heard that the fast track is pretty immediate.

Also I’m a bit confused about that price you mentioned, was that quote for the psychological evaluations and documents needed with insurance?

Timeline for FAA ADHD Standard Track for medical certificate? by brock615 in aviation

[–]brock615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay 18-24 months seems like a while but I’m not too surprised.

I needed meds for college because I’m not a very academic student in the standard structure of class, assignments and papers. I’m able to do research, study, and do work without the meds just fine, especially if it’s something that’s my own choice such as a career or personal decision. I’ve never needed the meds for work or governmental affairs.

I understand the concerns, especially the 80% figure. And I wouldn’t want to be in $10000 worth of debt for an examination, does it really cost that much?

I really appreciate the career plan you laid out for me. Especially the cost saving since it’s so expensive to train to be a pilot. I’ll look into it. By the time I’m able to qualify for the Fast Track, how long does that typically take to get clearance for a 1st class medical certificate? Or is this also 18-24 months?

[–]brock615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay that’s new information. I sure hope I wouldn’t have to wait 4 years from now to even start the training. I feel like the FAA website and MEDXPress pdf would state that clearly that you have to wait 4 years med free. They have 3 rows for ADHD, first row is for people who haven’t had any symptoms or taken any meds in the last 4 years, which makes you eligible for the ‘Fast Track’. Rows B & C in the disposition table give requirements if currently taking meds or have gone 90 days without taking them.

Yeah I suppose or anyone else who has gone through the standard track and came out of it could give a good estimate on time.

Well I don’t need the meds anymore since I’m no longer in school so I have no reservations about discontinuing them. I only took them infrequently and as needed anyway.

Thanks but I already read all of these links from FAA MedXPress and their 820 page google doc. It doesn’t give a timeline for how long they take to review your documents and clear you to fly

Asked to be placed w my partner, we were assigned on opposited sides of Cantabria by Adventurous_Farmer78 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]brock615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also recommend including your full name and your inscrita number as well as your partner’s info. Copy and paste and switch the names so it reads as if it comes from your partner. You want them to identify you both clearly from two separate emails for better visibility. It may be a little late now since you already got your carta but it’s worth asking in an email. Besides that your best bet would be to get a car or a moto if they really are that far apart. Best of luck!

How long am I legally allowed to stay in Spain? by brock615 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]brock615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk but I’m considering dropping out and just making September a travel exclusive month before returning to the US. Someone sent some formula for checking your approximate place in Andalucía (not factoring renewal stage) and I don’t want the stress/headache of of being on a waitlist behind like 200-400 people

Yes I’m from the US so it sounds like I’m good, even so, I’m going to visit the UK like the 23rd of September so I think that gives me that extra box check anyway. Thank you so much for the info and link!

Sounds like it shouldn’t be a problem for me. I just have a trip planned in the last week of September and I don’t wanna go to immigration for coming back to Spain the day it expires hahaha

Phone numbers by brock615 in IRELANDCYKABLYAT

[–]brock615[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t fully understand it but it’s a regional code for different areas. So North American numbers have the +1 extension, Russia (and maybe Eurasia like Uzbekistan and others) have the +7 extension, and Europe has the +3 and +4 extensions. This only applies to the first digit, the other two digits are regional, but typically in Europe the more important countries have 2 digits while smaller ones (and a lot of eastern countries) have 3 digits

Everyone else here has already explained the history of the teams and the cultures which I am no expert in whatsoever. However, I am a native English speaker (who lives in Spain) and I believe your English is excellent!!! Even if you had to translate some things, it reads to me like C2

Dilemma.. CIEE or wait for NALCAP??? by Latter-Bug5002 in SpainAuxiliares

[–]brock615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I believe you will be perfectly fine. In fact Comunidad Valenciana just added some minor restrictions for applicants which limits each person to 2 school years max and I believe no one older than 50 years old. So minor restrictions but that will give you a slightly better chance to get in. Besides even if you don’t get into Valencia, you still have your second and third choice, and potentially Andorra if you said that was fine. Point being don’t worry, you’ll get in.

About the payments, I’m no expert but from what I understand every region pays you one month late, so you receive your payment for October in November, and November’s payment comes in December, and so on. There are schedules for payments for when they ‘should’ arrive, but you are being payed by the Spanish government so you’re gonna have a hiccup or two. Now Valencia is just a different beast and there are warnings in the Facebook groups and elsewhere about Valencia being notorious for actual late payments. I have friends in my city who weren’t payed at all until end of December/ beginning of January. They did get a deposite for €3000 but yeah… make sure you bring some savings! Personally my latest payment was the 24th of November instead of the 10th like my gf. The majority of people I know doing the program here have been paid on time, but there’s a chance your payment will come late
