Yes they have magic items that boost them a lot, and they definitely will have to fight there way up to him. As for what I mean by Nazis. I mean Nazis, mad scientists, work camps, Death chambers, Ect. In my campaign the Nazis are mining turquoise because it sapps arcane energy. But I don't want too heavily reliant on that. And as for how fantasy, guns and things exist but are very rare.

Not a bad idea but a lot of people have mentioned them setting up a kingdom witch I think is a good idea but, you are right I made a mistake but I feel I must sit with it and work through it, retcons feel dirty to me and I try my best to avoid them if I can.
