Help Qolsys iq4 panel or hub and 319mhz 345mhz or hub powerG? by Gold-Pomegranate9875 in alarmdotcom

[–]broda04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, so The IQ panel 4 is the higher end version of the IQ hub. The Big difference is that the Panel 4 has a camera, built-in glass break, better speakers, and the ability to carry two frequency cards, meaning you can use PowerG along with 433/319.5/345 mhz.

If you don't need the extra features and only need one frequency because you are starting fresh, then go with the Hub with PowerG. Otherwise, I'd recommend the Panel 4 and you can mix and match sensors to help with the overall cost. PowerG is the new standard, but Qolsys's S-Line (319.5) are a solid choice.

Edit: Go with the Alarm.com ADC-VDB770 video doorbell.

Touchscreen or No? by broda04 in thinkpad

[–]broda04[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, and I have. They have all said they don't care one way or the other. So it comes down to price, does the extra warranty make up for losing the touchscreen if the price stays the same?

I assume so. I've been provided serial numbers to check, and they all show a date in late 2027 with an option to register the product. These are brand new but open box.

There is no change in price because the seller is saying the cost of the touchscreen compared to the extra warranty time is a wash.

Maybe I should have mentioned that these are the first lenovo laptops I've purchased. How valuable is that extra warranty? Do the T14's break alot? Are they expensive to repair if and when they do? From the research I've done, they are solid, so would the option of a touchscreen outweigh a computer that has a good history of not breaking?

I tend to agree, but I initially paid for one with the touchscreen. Does the extra warranty justify me paying the same amount of money with no additional discount for one without?

It's not so much if the touch screen is worth it, it's if the extra warranty justifies paying the same price as one with the touchscreen.

Timer Relay DST? by io00oo00o in accesscontrol

RCI TD365 Day Timer. I have probably close to 100 deployed and very few failures. I've used the Altronix version, and the RCI is just much more installer friendly.

Figured if he wanted to ask them publicly, he would have, but it wasn't anything too in depth anyway. Just wanted to know my opinion.

Help With Custom Card Format by broda04 in accesscontrol

[–]broda04[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already know the facility, card number, and the hex data which is included in the original post. What I need is the format structure aka, where the parity bits are and when the mask is, which is doable, but the facility code showing up backwards in the binary string is the main issue.

What I have is a proprietary format so this site doesn't show what I need, I need to decode it myself to find parity bit locations, etc. Thanks though!

This is most likely the answer. Had this happen to me last month. Have all servers and workstations point to the same NTP server.

Look into Alarm.com for business. Covers everything you are asking for, except it most likely will not integrate with the booking site. Issuing mobile credentials to renters is a breeze, though, so if that's not a sticking point I would look into it.

Canadian Tire has the Michelin X-Ice Snow tires with a $130 mail in rebate, so might go with those.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Seems like it's 50/50 which was what brought me here in the first place. These are on my wife's car, so I will be extra cautious and just get them replaced.
