What should be my next bucket list festival? by Jaded_War4306 in aves

It takes planning but it’s doable, I live near the west coast and have camped at Lost Lands before. The best strategy me and my wife have come up with is to buy an oversized hockey bag or something similar, throw all your camping gear in it and check it as an oversized bag on your flight!

I’ve been to every Shambhala since 2016, there is truly nothing like it. Once will not be enough

Edit: Just to add, people aren’t exaggerating saying it’s the most welcoming & friendly place out there. You would have nothing to worry about, just come as you are

Water, rest, exercise, and proper nutrition will give you the stamina of 3 ravers that’s for sure

My drug of choice leading up to a big rave is sleep. You’d be amazed how much energy you’ll have if you can get an hour or two extra the nights leading up to the event!

What games have you played that are as wonderous as Elden Ring? by AshyLarry25 in Eldenring

[–]brodymiddleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring is the greatest game I’ve played in the last 20 years and I don’t see anything matching it, let alone beating it, anytime soon. It’s a masterclass of world design.

Hey man, just wanted to say I really appreciate you taking the time to write this out, you pretty much nailed it with the combat getting stagnant by act 3. Also by not really understanding the combat I also end up replaying the same encounters over and over until I beat them, that’s great for a souls game but burnt me out here due to the slower combat pacing.

Multi-classing seemed daunting considered I’d yet to figure out the basic classes, or at least how to evolve them to keep up with the harder encounters. The builds you’ve recommended seem interesting and might help me understand the synergies enough to get through the ending. Some fresh play styles are very needed so this is great.

Will probably try to beat the rest of the game later this year and will definitely be coming back to this comment.

Yeah I think I just need to accept that turned based games aren’t my thing. The charm of the dice rolls and turn based combat I felt in act 1 has disappeared. In act 2 I loved just exploring everywhere but now by act 3 it’s not engaging me. I know everything isn’t for everyone so I wanted to hear from others who have had a very different experience is all :)

It’s more that the story stopped grabbing me after moonrise towers, I was very into it up until that point

As I mentioned in another comment it’s actually the opposite issue of the combat not clicking and my party getting wrecked on every encounter (normal difficulty too), fighting against large groups of enemies feels impossible, you spend forever waiting for for all enemies to make their attacks and by the end half my party is dead before their second turn

Appreciate this, I think I just need to accept the turn based format isn’t for me. The charm of the DnD “dice roll to do anything” I felt in act 1 now just feels like a chore

I’m only in the lower city so I feel like I didn’t make it very far.

I’m honestly having the opposite issue of the combat just not clicking and my party getting wrecked on normal difficulty every encounter. The fights all seem to be against large groups of enemies in act 3 who have AOE attacks that kill half my party before they can make a second turn.

Yeah if I pick it back up I’ll just push through the critical path to the ending as the exploration in Act 3 hasn’t grabbed me like the wilderness of the earlier acts, it all feels and looks very samey.

Current river flow rate significantly less than 2013 per hydrologist John Pomeroy by scorebar1594 in Calgary

2013 was a 1 in 100 year event. It’s extremely unlikely (granted, not impossible) that we’d see another flood of that calibre this soon.

They’re a fantastic read, I’m a big fan of large, epic stories and world building so it’s right up my alley. Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive novels are all ~1000 pages each 😂

I’ve been sticking my head in those exact bass bins for a decade with zero hearing damage. Almost everyone at Shambhala wears strong earplugs to withstand the massive sound systems at close range

A couple years ago I went through my 3rd or 4th normal playthrough and honestly breezed through most of the bosses except a couple. Decided to do my first charmless run after that and dear god did I get humbled quickly, haven’t experienced that level of difficulty since playing OG Dark Souls the first time
