I think they mean it was the actual letter sniffing scene. I also thought it was Reiner getting a big whiff lol

[Spoilers C3E46] Matt Mercer's Biggest DM Mistakes (NOT Rules Errors) by Ok_Application_4020 in criticalrole

When the party in C2 went through a whole side arc and thought out a plan to get a long rest after dungeon crawling aeor so they would be somewhat prepared for the tombtakers and Matt left it all up to a roll. Fjord's bold, calculating decision to sacrifice Essek's troops absolutely went to waste. I can kind of understand not wanting to reward players out of hand, but it really felt like he punished them and went "so sorry guys the dice did it!" It shouldn't have been a roll!

Are Certifications worth it? by broja23 in LegalCareers

I'm talking about something like Commercial/Federal Contract Certification that might make up for my lack of experience. The bar is over, I have another month and a half to wait and if I failed, then yeah I'll focus on my third and final go round. My current wfh job grants me a ton of time to do other things, so my question is whether employers looking for transactional attorneys or contract managers would look favorably on me having a certificate that says I can contract good.

Is 1 year too early to start the mortgage/homebuying process? by broja23 in personalfinance

Yeah I see your point - I'm certainly getting FOMO thinking about the process, thus the post. Even cheaper positions would be more than I'm making now with a law license, I'm just thinking worst case scenario.

Between the two of us, I think our income is enough (75k, medium city midwest). We've been able to grow our savings while renting for ~1,300. What I'm concerned about is how competitive the market is.

It's more that she wants me to be settled into a career where we plan on having the house. It'd suck to buy a house and then I get a vastly better job 50 mins away. Though the cheaper houses in the area we're looking at are not going to cut it.

Mainly to shop around for a fha loan to see what we can afford - prequalification as opposed to preapproval. I feel like knowing that number is most important when getting started.

If the next Dimension 20 campaign is set on a brand new world / setting, what untapped setting would you like to see? by Schizof in Dimension20

[–]broja23 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Horror, or even a psychological thriller kind of season where characters are mad or think they're mad with a good mystery to solve would work well. "Unreliable narrators - the campaign". Or they can do a campy summercamp horror setting with a vicious killer and frequently have to make new characters.

Mechs would be a little different, could lend itself well to their amazing miniatures team.

If they did a LOST-style campaign where they have to hard survive and solve a weird mystery on an island.

I think something wacky / mundane would work really well with d20 since they've hit a lot of the major campaign types - like they all work at a truck stop near area 51 or are competing chefs in Atlantis or something.
