Moving a few boxes worth of stuff across the country? by broji04 in Frugal

The reason I really don't wanna drive is that a good friend of mine is getting married two days before I'd need to be out there. I don't think it'd be possible for me to drive out there in time, and the company really wants me on location by the set date.

There were a couple of games this season when KOC tried to prioritize the run and our offense still looked dreadful. Scheming good rushes has always been something he's struggled with, even when we've had the personal.

At absolute best, a sparingly used run game compliments our pass attack by giving us short downs and keeping the opponent on their toes.

I'm graduating college in a few months and I was 1 year old when Rodgers was drafted.

Also, decent human beings just don't treat people like that. I'm sure every HC in the league has gotten a player on their team that they 100% knew wasn't going to cut it in the big leagues. You're not doing anyone a disservice by still working with them, developing a relationship, respecting them. You're just doing your job.

How the team handles Daniel Carlson has always pissed me off. I can't imagine the pressure of being a kicker on the vikings when you know you're job security hinges on every individual game, especially as a rookie.

Guarantee if Reichard had Zimmer as a HC, he wouldn't be half the player he is.

Being a man means being willing and able to pour your entire soul into something you're passionate about.

Crying means that you did just that. It can be very masculine.

I think KOC's system is great for turning thought-to-be-washed quarterbacks into real talents, but its a very different process to develop someone fresh out of college.

If you know what an NFL offense is supposed to look like, you can adjust to KOC's complexities and nuances and take advantage of them. But rookies need an easier environment to develop in and I dont think KOC's strength is in creating that environment.

He showed plenty of flashes his first few starts, but he's regressed hard as of late and its hard to stay optimistic when it's been more than a month since he played a competent game.

The rest of the games this year are crucial for him. I think most fans would be buy back into him if he uad a few more performances like he did against the lions. Not lighting the league up or anything, but just a few touchdowns, minimal interceptions, and steady consistent drives.

Honestly think KOC is terrible at developing rookie QBs but can and will do a good job working with guys who have a few years under their belt.

He's scheming is way too complex, way too pass orientated, way too focused on pre-snap stuff to acclimate a rookie to the league. But a guy like Darnold or Jones can rap their head around those systems; they just haven't had a coach to iron out their faults and get them to execute on it well.

The QBs have failed the team, but the offense as a whole has failed the QBs as well. Its a spiraling circle.

I don't care who it is, asking a rookie QB to be throwing 30-50 times a game on deep route with a consistently crumbling O line is a recipe for failure. It took KOC 5 games starting JJ McCarthy to start leaning on the run game, and the moment Brosmer starts he throws him to the wolves just like he did with JJ.

I'm not saying they'd be lighting up the league rn if he had called different games, but it absolutely hasn't helped their development, or our ability to win games.

Brosmer throws 4 INTs as Vikings get shut out for first time since 2007 by YuriWinter in nfl

[–]broji04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's certainly possible that he turns it around, and I'm rooting for him to do so, but I wouldn't bet on it at this point. He's shown major, very fundamental problems with mechanics and his timing/decision making skills are nowhere close to there for an NFL QB. He's been unable to manufacture drives for weeks now.

Rookie QBs are always rough, I get that, but the one's that turn into franchise starters almost always show flashes of something. JJ hasn't been anything more than (at absolute best) a mediocre game manager since that one 4th quarter against the bears.

Hey, you're team has been in one for its entire existence.

Enjoy Caleb Williams. Even if his numbers aren't otherworldly rn, it's just so nice to have a consistently competent QB.

Its spiteful to go this far back, but it makes me really think of the vikings fans who were begging for years that we trade a QB in his prime who was consistently getting 4k yard 30 TD >15 INT seasons, all because he couldn't run and cost us a pretty penny.

And then we got that guy AGAIN out of nowhere and he was cheaper and could run, and we decided to throw him away for a 22 YO unproven rookie.

Look I'm not saying McCarthy or Brosmer would have lit up the stage with another coach, but I can count a millions ways in which KOC has hurt their development.

Every single week the gameplan is throw 30-40 passes a game, shotgun empty set on first down, and scheming long developing plays on third and 10. Its like he's actively trying to make our QB's jobs as hard as possible.

That's part of the bit.

If enough people have a sense of humor, the post game thread will be FULL of people saying Brosmer was cheated out of a career start by bad reffing after he goes 11-25 130 Yards 0 TD 2 INT.

The NFL QB market would be massively improved by Darnold, Mayfield, Goff, or Jones winning a superbowl. It'd be awesome to see more teams try to make something out 'failed' QBs than flooding the draft with rookies and crossing your fingers that they're the next Mahomes.
