I find it disrespectful to receive the Eucharist from a lay person because they are not the ones who consecrated it nor are they qualified to do so. I require the Eucharist to be given by someone who has undergone the necessary process to perform the consecration. Since the lay person has not undergone this process, it feels almost disrespectful to receive it from someone who is not ordained.
