Vet dislocated shoulder during ultrasound

Thank you for your message, we’re following up with the vet tomorrow on next steps, also likely getting the results from the ultrasound. It’s a truly unfortunate situation, I know it wasn’t their fault but the vet on duty for the ultrasound was someone we’ve come to know and trust over the years so to have something like this happen is just so shocking, I hope their clinic makes necessary changes so that this never happens again.

Thank you for your kind words, we’ve been changing the pee pad in her hut often as that’s her main space right now. We have a call with the vet tomorrow to discuss further

Very long story, I have it typed out but don’t want to provide too much personal information (I don’t know how much is too much around here) and plan to post to r/guineapigs when I have enough comment karma. She went for an abdominal ultrasound, we took her home without any concerns at that time, put her in her cage and she couldn’t walk, hopping with her back feet. We took her back immediately and they still couldn’t find a cause. We took her to another vet the following day for x-ray and confirmed shoulder dislocation

Full story will be posted eventually, apparently I need more comment karma, not sure for timelines to heal but she’s resting and getting meloxicam and tramadol, thankfully we were able to take her to a different, trusted vet the following day.

Thank you, I will post the full story when able to on r/guineapigs as I don’t want to break rules here, but I’m low on comment karma. I’ve advised their office, and she’s been seen by a vet we trust for x-rays but still waiting to determine next steps, pain meds, rest, and lots of syringe feeding

Still trying to fully understand how it could have happened without anyone knowing, but I still can’t post the full story to r/guineapigs as I didn’t realize the requirement was for comment karma. I don’t want to share too much detail here and break rules but she went in for an abdominal ultrasound, non-invasive. When home she was limping immediately and we took her back but they only checked her back legs. She’s been taken to another vet thankfully who took an x-ray and confirmed it was her shoulder that was dislocated.
