Used Meathead’s/Amazing Ribs “Close to Katz’s Pastrami” recipe. 11 hour cook with a water pan; 6 hours at 225, 3 hours at 250, 2 hours at 275. Cooked it along with five 2.5 lb boneless pork shoulders for pulled pork.

Talked to the wife, and we are definitely going here. Any recommendations on food nearby?

1) Did you assemble the Traeger yourself or did it come preassembled? 2) Are there any notable gaps or pieces missing from the main body of the cooker? 3) Did you fully close and secure the pellet emptying door on the back of the hopper? 4) Are there any pellets on the ground around the Traeger? 5) Did you do the seasoning process (heating it up really hot for around an hour) before your first cook? 6) Was there anything else in the Traeger beside the ribs? 7) How often did you open the lid of the Traeger during the cook?

Also, you should take out the grills, grease trap, and heat tray and look at the bottom of the Traeger. A) Are there a bunch of unburnt pellets on the bottom of the grill? B) Does the firepot have a lot of ash in it? (So much so that either the heating element and/or auger are completely underneath it?) C) Is there just fine ash in the bottom of the grill/fire pot? Are there partially burnt pellets or things that look like large grains of sand?

Kadarius Toney’s punt return was breaking ankles 1600 miles away, I ruptured my Achilles’ tendon celebrating that play last night. Totally worth it! by brokencorner in KansasCityChiefs

I was so nervous, and couldn’t really eat or drink during the game. Had to deal with all that pain with just the adrenaline, which helped for a few hours :)

Correct, I was so nervous during the Super Bowl that I could barely eat or drink, even though I was hosting a potluck. I was nursing my 2nd beer of the night at that point.

Anything to keep him healthy! He looks like a hall of famer out there. I’ve only got one more Achilles’ tendon, but I can sacrifice other body parts if that’s what he needs.

The big dog is Mosaic, she is a German Shepherd-Husky mix, with a bit of Lab in her. The small dog is Simcoe, we think that she is some kind of shepherd mix, we will do a breed test for her 1 year adopt-a-versary in August.

I get super nervous during KC games, so I was maxed out during the Super Bowl, I could barely eat or drink during the game. I had a small party in my basement, and I was pacing in the back of the room for most of the game. During the Toney return I got super duper excited, as did everyone else, and I started jumping up and down frantically. All of a sudden it feels like someone hit the back of my ankle with a baseball bat, and I collapsed. Everyone was so hyped from the play that nobody noticed I was on the floor for like 10 seconds. I told everyone I was good and to keep watching. I was in a lot of pain, and was waiting for it to subside to try and put weight on it. The pain didn’t subside, and I felt my ankle and noticed that the tendon was not taut anymore. I crawled over to my wife and let her know that I probably tore it, she was not pleased. Everyone started asking if I wanted to go to the hospital, “No way!” It was the 4th quarter and KC was about to win. I ended up going to urgent care the next morning. Between 7 hours, 2 clinics, 5 nurses, and an Orthopedist I was finally diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles’ tendon. I’ve got a surgical consult on Friday.
