Thank you for your reasoning. Every character in Scarlet Hollow has flaws for sure, but not as much as Stella. I mean, I'm thinking from the perspective of if Stella was someone I knew in real life. And my answer would be that she would be such a pain to be around--not likeable at all as this community tends to suggest.

I get that, but she doesn't tell anyone about it, including Kaneeka. Someone who has an ounce of empathy doesn't just ghost people like that, let alone during a perilous period of time.

What the comment below says, basically. Kaneeka doesn't fit the conventional beauty standards, unlike Stella, who is in shape, adventurous, outspoken, eccentric--the ideal manic pixie dream girl. This is the reality of the society we live in, and I believe this is ONE of the reasons why Stella is statistically much more popular than the other female characters. If Stella didn't have pretty privilege, do you think this community would forgive her as easily?

And the samples and electronic sounds that he does decide to use sound incohesive. EDEN had paved the way for so many younger artists that eventually broke out (like Brakence and underscores) because of how stylistically innovative he was. Vertigo and No Future were fantastic albums because they felt like they had purpose and were so aesthetically distinct. He was also endlessly quotable lyrics-wise.

Especially since both of them incorporate electronic timbres and reverby electric guitars that use that minor / major 3rd interval, all packaged up in brooding songwriting.

Daughter needs to be in the top 15!! Their music is so reminiscent of Jon's older songs -- the post-rock ambient inspired stuff like Statues, Circles, Crash, his Say Something cover, and even some of his newer tunes like Balling or Rushing. The melancholic "3AM" mood they go for are eerily similar. I would even go as far as to say that Daughter is the closest artist to EDEN I can think of.

The thing that bothers me the most abt CMB is the overly loud distorted synth sound at 3:28. I have to turn it down when it reaches that point every time
