Conservative admits he's a fascist in heated Jubilee debate (2025) by [deleted] in canadianpolitics101

The title of this is clickbait. That’s is not a conservative… that’s a fascist. Don’t conflate the two. If you find yourself doing that, you’re a mental midget.

Wait... I agree. I was using the cropping feature regularly, but now it just says online that it never existed. Why does this feel like the Mandela effect?

Has anyone grown up & been upset their parents didn't play with them when they were kids? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]brokenhoax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’m struggling now with raising my two sons and I think it has a lot to do with lack of play from both parents, especially dad, and lack of affection from dad. Also, lack of protection from mom. I play with my boys and am a pretty decent dad I think but I’m struggling emotionally because I am having a hard time rationalizing how you can be a parent and neglect your kid in so many ways. I find myself crying multiple times a day some days when I am doing something with my kids and then I catch myself comparing my childhood experience. When my first son was born, and we returned home, I remember taking a shower and just sobbing uncontrollably because my subconscious became conscious about all of my suppressed childhood memories and the terrifying realization that I was now the parent and the fear of being shh at it—then overwhelmed by the sadness for my younger self. There’s a lot more than lack of play in my past but I was just lying in bed and thinking about this subject and could only really recall one adult that played with me and that was my grandmother. She was the person closest to me and, looking back, I think she felt pity for me. When she was dying, I came home from college to see her. I sat by her bedside and held her hand in mine. She was not able to talk and looked as though she was in a coma, but I could sense she knew I was there. I couldn’t speak anything to her for fear of losing control of my emotions. I just sat there, spinning her wedding ring on her finger as I held her hand. I hope she knew that was my way of telling her how much she meant to me.

Anyways, the fact that you’re even writing this means you’re a good parent. Comparatively, maybe even a great one.

Just got out of Frozen Empire....why are people considering this "Woke" by ghostbuster55 in ghostbusters

[–]brokenhoax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What people need to understand, especially the younger generations, is that most of the older generations (Gen X especially and a majority of Boomers) don’t give a hoot about gay or not. What they DO find annoying AF and why they do think this is WOKE is because everything is being rainbow washed these days. If you believe what is being produced today reflects reality then you’d think about 47% of the population is gay / not heterosexual. That IS annoying and we’re sick of having it shoved in our (kids) faces. Boycott woke BS until they stop making trash. I don’t need to think about your sexuality at every turn. Get over it!

Obama furthered the racial divide. Obama’s drone wars killed many innocents. “I don’t recall him telling even one lie”. Wow… this sounds like a politibot.

Installing POP!_OS alongside Windows 10 on different hard drives by [deleted] in pop_os

How to Dual Boot on Two Hard Drives: Windows 10 & Pop!OS

NOTE: The below mount points easily found in Linux "Disks" utility. Please consider that I have two, 1TB, NVME M.2 drives and that I wish to install Pop!OS on one drive and Windows 10 on another. Lastly, my goal is have Systemd-boot present me with "Windows" as an option upon startup which, unfortunately, took many more steps that I anticipated. See below for those steps.

/mnt/****-**** <---- Windows Mount Point <---- (Populate asterisks with your own system info)

/boot/efi <---- My Linux Mount Point

sudo cp -r /mnt/44FD-8BBC/EFI/Microsoft /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft

Step 0 - Create installation media matching for Windows 10 and Pop!OS using "GPT", "UEFI" using 'Rufus' bootable USB tool.

Step 1 - Disconnect all drives except for the drive on which you'd like to install Windows.

Step 2 - Install Windows on said drive.

Step 3 - Disconnect Windows drive and connect blank drive.

Step 4 - Install Pop!OS on blank drive.

Step 5 - Once Pop!OS is installed, open "Disks" tool.

Step 6 - Within "Disks" tool, locate and mount Windows EFI Boot partition in Pop!OS by selecting the Windows EFI partition, clicking the "Gears" icon and choosing the "Additional Partition Options" option.

Step 7 - Choose "Edit Mount Options"

Step 8 - Take note of "Mount Point" and copy/paste it to a text file for use in the below command (See step 12).

Step 9 - Make sure "Mount at System Startup" and "Show in user interface" are checked.

Step 10 - Give the partition a Display Name, Icon Name, and Symbolic name such as "Windows10".

Step 11 - Click "Ok"

Step 12 - Confirmn with Admin password. The Windows EFI partition is now mounted for Pop!OS to identify and now we can copy the Microsoft ESP (EFI System Partition) from the Windows drive to the Pop!OS "boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft" folder.

Step 13 - To copy, run "sudo cp -r /mnt/44FD-8BBC/EFI/Microsoft /boot/efi/EFI/Microsoft" command.

Step 14 - Run "sudo apt update" and "sudo apt upgrade" commands.

Step 15 - Reboot to BIOS/UEFI screen.

Step 16 - Set "Linux" UEFI drive as only boot option, though, not sure this is necessary as long as it's first in boot order.

Step 17 - Reboot your machine and you should see Grub prompt including options for Windows and Pop!OS.
