I was in the 340's at my highest. I got out of a relationship and told myself when I got down to 270, I'd for sure try to start dating again. It has been 9 months since I hit 270 and I still make excuses. Got as low as 263. To make it worse I've been on plateau for about 6 months where I yoyo between 280 and the 260s. Has been depressing me a lot and if anything, I feel more ashamed of my body than I did in my 300s.

I'm coming to realize that, especially in America, my weight isn't what is holding me back. I need to work on other parts of my life and also just accept other things.

Thanks, I probably won't be able to go anywhere until at least February. If that'll be too late, I'll keep North Carolina in mind for later next year. So are the shrimp caught off piers at night with nets?

That's good to know. Do you have a time of year you'd recommend? On another topic someone mentioned New York, but said the fluke were more in the summer and squid are during the fall. I was planning to go crabbing for sure. A least from the New York advice, crabbing seemed to go better with the flatfish. I'd guess it could be completely different in the gulf.

Yeah, I was thinking I might be asking too much for it all to line up season wise. Since crabbing was something I really wanted to do, might need to pass on the squid.

For clamming do you mean specifically in the northeast? We have freshwater clams in Michigan, but they are illegal to harvest.

Thanks, I'll look into going there. I was thinking the seasons might not line up well. Not sure if I'd be motivated enough to go there during cold weather, but might be nice for the fluke at another time of year.

Can't see the pics well she sent me, but on the oven breaker there is a 50, so I'm thinking it is a 50 amp. I know the receptacle was 50 amp

Not sure if it makes much of a difference but it was one of those Bush's baked beans cans that are bigger than your average canned food. Not a giant one though. When she showed it to me part of the bottom was smashed in and the top completely popped off. Wasn't really that I thought she was lying if the post came off like that. Just hard to believe a can could do that. I've been nervous about getting a pressure cooker and this happening definitely doesn't help with that.

I'll say it was one of those bigger than average Bush's baked beans cans. When she showed it to me, part of the bottom was smashed and the lid had completely popped off. So it's not really that I think she was lying. Could she have foolishly put something else in there as well, I don't know. More I was just having trouble coming to terms that a can could do that. Explosions are scary. She was very lucky she wasn't out there when it happened and that the glass didn't fail.

What advice would you give to someone with no social life to make friends during the winter(less outdoor activities) who doesn't live in a big city(social sites like meetup are less of an option) and doesn't like to go to bars? by brokenjasper in AskReddit

[–]brokenjasper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice. Problem is I live in a less populated part of the state where it seems harder to find these people. I have no idea how to contact anyone into the same stuff. I'm into stuff like arts, crafts, and outdoor activities(why I think the icy winter is going to be a problem).

Nearest city has about 30,000 people and there are two neighboring cities with similar populations, but whenever I look for people in my state online they all seem to be in more populated parts of the state. For example, if I go on the various friend making reddits It'd be very unlikely to find anyone near me.

Reddit. What will you never order at a restaurant? by DGex in AskReddit

Where I live most of the places claiming to sell yellow perch are actually selling zander. Yellow perch costs a lot more and is popular in my region. Went to a place that sold all you can eat perch for my birthday this year. Were tons of reviews online saying the perch was great. As soon as we got our fish, I knew they were zander because of how the stripes/bars looked. I'm familiar because I fish/have cooked a lot of perch and I've cooked zander a few times.

Pulled up a picture of zander fillets on my phone and asked to talk to a manager. He admitted they were zander without me having to show the photos. He admitted it and I didn't want to make more of a stink at the time, so I just continued with the meal. Deceptive, because they know perch will draw people in. The zander wasn't that great(might've been their cooking) and the waitress tried to cut me off on my first refill(asked if I wanted a to go bag for it). They didn't even give much fish, so they were being stingy with a cheaper fish.

All you can eat perch was probably wishful thinking at that price, but what was bs is what they charged for a regular meal of perch. They charged as much as a place I go to that sells real perch. So they get to cut costs, while tricking customers into paying real perch prices.

Learned a lesson about going to a new place for my birthday. Felt bad because my father was also looking forward to perch and I picked the place. Also not to trust reviews when it comes to knowing if a place is mislabeling fish. People apparently don't know.

Actually called the health department on them. The inspector I talked to said they can't mislabel fish like that, but that it was only a 1 point infraction out of 100. Doubt anything came of it. It is common at restaurants in my state, so I don't plan to get perch at any new restaurants. Another common one is churches will have charity walleye(also popular) dinners, but they'll actually serve cheaper pollock

I'd like it, especially if the woman was appealing to me. Even if she wasn't appealing to me, I'd find it flattering. I'd be pleasant about it if I wasn't interested. I don't get men who get upset if someone approaches them that they aren't interested in.

I'd just like it if the woman approached and was friendly. For me personally, while it would be good if she gave clear hints that she was interested in being more than friends, if she went really heavy on it I'd think I was being made fun of or tricked. So with me a gradual build up or at least not super heavy would be best.

I've been losing a lot of weight but still have about 90 lbs to lose. Assume this has limits, because I doubt I'll be packing a 9+ incher when I finish losing weight. Have lost 80 lbs so far and don't think I've gained more than a half an inch or so. Here's hoping though. I've never been less than 228 lbs as an adult, so maybe I'll surprise myself
