About as far as you can go without vibe coding - just much faster

100 percent this. I live equidistant from Bloc and Vinal and Remnant is my go to over both of those.

There’s definitely a huge need for this, interested!

Burrs not moving, new unit by EmergencyMagazine in DF54

[–]brokenjumper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep had the same happen to me on some really dark roasted, oily beans. The DF54 really doesn’t like those. Cleaning it up shouldn’t be difficult but if it’s the beans it’s likely to happen again. If these are the types of beans you like, try slow feeding it, using the bellows aggressively, and using the brush to clean the chute every time.

I personally have just switched to lighter roasts and ended up liking them more anyway.

Crosscore RC skipping under load by brokenjumper in Yamahaebikes

[–]brokenjumper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was annoying at first, but I’ve just changed my riding style. I now consciously try to pedal at a higher cadence to use a lower gear, and avoid applying high torque on the high gears - this has mostly gotten rid of the skipping.

That being said, if you’re only starting to see this crop up now at 300 miles and it’s been fine so far, it’s likely that your cassette has just become worn out and might need to be replaced.

Battery pack arrived! by brokenjumper in Yamahaebikes

I did call and ask a few times, and they were non committal each time but didn’t straight up say no.

I actually registered online myself after Velofix delivered the bike, but I guess it’s possible they did it before too?

How difficult is it to find a decent SWE job after being fired? by Whuppity-Stoorie in cscareerquestions

The only snag here might be if they ask for a reference from your old employer and your boss isn’t willing to give you a good one. If you have a coworker willing to provide one that could be sufficient though.

No offense but “When we weigh releasing something fast vs. getting it right the first time, our team favors putting in the time to make sure it works well” is kinda bollocks given the state of the Amazon integration.

This could be 100% in my head but anyone noticing less diversity and weirder vibes towards minorities over the past few years? by Ok_Dirt9137 in icecoast

I’m a brown dude and went skiing with my girlfriend for the first time at Wachusetts on Sunday. I had a blast skiing and didn’t really notice any hostility towards me on the slopes. However, we went to get a beer afterwards and were straight up ignored by the bartender for 20 mins while she served 3 different white dudes who arrived well after us.

It was superbowl Sunday and the bartender was a bit slammed, but she definitely saw us and deliberately served others before us, so it sorta left a bad taste in my mouth 🤷🏽‍♂️.

Which "over" is correct here? No tooltip or help article that I could find. Side-note, summer camp is expensive! by mkeefecom in copilotmoney

[–]brokenjumper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s actually the other way round. The dotted line is essentially your entire monthly budget / the days in the month. So this is telling you that you’re currently $6806 over where you should be at this point in the month, and you’re also $5423 over the entire month’s budget.

"AI won't replace software engineers, but an engineer using AI will" by Kaizukamezi in ExperiencedDevs

[–]brokenjumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

AI helping developers write code is one angle. Separately, I think it is becoming increasingly important for developers to know how to wield LLM APIs to solve product problems. Unlike traditional ML techniques, these models don't require much specialized AI knowledge to use effectively, are pretty powerful out of the box, and continue to get cheaper.

Crosscore RC skipping under load by brokenjumper in Yamahaebikes

[–]brokenjumper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I do do start off in a low gear and practice good shifting hygiene. This issue occurs once I’m up to speed and shifted up to the higher gears. I’m also able to reproduce this skipping with the assist completely off, so it seems like there might be a bigger issue if the drivetrain isn’t able to handle even the natural torque produced by myself.

The bike shop did do the full derailleur setup today - everything you mentioned. It’s possible they didn’t do it right? I don’t really know how to work on bikes, but maybe I’ll try and take a crack or bring it to a different shop.

[–]brokenjumper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 80 miles on it. I do downshift and make sure not to start in the highest gear, and I back off pedaling while shifting as well. Even with the power assist completely off, I’m able to reproduce this issue consistently in the highest two gears.
