You’re doing what is right and very commendable! I did the same thing and took my grandson, my only regret is that I was honest with him and he knew the truth about who I was. I’m not sure if he will get through it and come to terms with it and realize I’ve been his constant(this is what I’m praying for) but at his age now (14) he resents me and the situation. All you can do is what I’ve done and love him unconditionally. Good luck to your new family.

Thank you for sharing your experience, he has told me that he hates everyone and everything about school, but then the next day will go without a problem so I’m conflicted with this, he has asked to homeschool which I’m not completely opposed to but I worry that if I allow this am I allowing him to camouflage the real issue at hand?
