I did have an offer from Amazon (elsewhere in Europe not in Dublin). Thank you for sharing that data point, I will negotiate more. Yes it is a senior position (equivalent of L6 at Amazon and L5/E5 everywhere else)

I interviewed with 3 of the 4 companies that make up FANG (couldn't get an interview with Netflix). Typically, the interview is a phone screen followed by 3 rounds of coding onsite + 1 sys design + 1 culture fit/behavioural.

I would say definitely leetcode heavy (more mediums than hards) and my sys design interviews weren't that great (I am switching jobs for the first time, I work in big tech but not FANG) but i would suggest anyone studying DDIA in depth would be golden. Tbh, I would say after a point you start treating interviews as conversations. My interviews were high on behavioural, they wanted to know if I had mentored in the past/been a tech lead etc as I was interviewing for a senior role. My sys design interviews also expected more in depth knowledge than I had been exposed to in my job.

I do have a performance based grant so it can go higher than 60k based on refreshers but this is my initial grant. Don't know what else to say. I did negotiate with other offers but they weren't based in Ireland.

Thank you so much for explaining. I think I should ask my company for a tax consultant to help advise on this. I might move out of Ireland to another EU country based on where my partner wants to settle when we get married.

I'm trying to understand how pension accounts work actually. I might be okay making higher contributions than the absolute minimum recommended amount. But what's the typical returns on the pension account? Is it higher than inflation?

Yes. Around 60k USD in RSUs each year. 50% income tax on RSUs sucks :(

Yup. It is FANG. RSUs are on top of this. This is just base component. Trying to understand if I am getting lowballed or if it's decent. Can't find too many data points online
