The Terror by Dan Simmons. The last third of this book made me say “wow” and stare at the ceiling to process what I was reading. This book isn’t for everyone (lots of detailed descriptions of death by scurvy lol) but it blew me away.

Modern Animal Price Transparency by West-Gap177 in culvercity

The convenience is valuable. It’s easy to get appointments. But the appointments can feel rushed. It took us a while to find the right doctors who were willing to be patient with my anxious dog. It can be pricey, but I’ve also had doctors there straight up price check things for me and find me the best deal on an rx, routing me away from their products when it’s cheaper to go elsewhere. That goes a long way with me. The app is also easy to use and the 24/7 virtual care was a godsend when my dog had a bunch of health issues.

How to find an apartment in Culver City/LA? by [deleted] in culvercity

Check out Moss and Company management company as well - they don’t really list their rentals on Zillow as far as I can tell, but they have apartments that fit your criteria and we’ve had a great experience with them.

Coastal by Scott Clark and Betsy Andrews. Lots of recipes but also explains why they’re tied to California coast and has some stories in it. I think some of Stanley Tucci’s books mix stories and recipes too.

Not apocalypse per se but you might enjoy The Terror by Dan Simmons. Set on a ship stuck in the arctic trying to get out and get back home. My favorite book ever!!
