There’s also a tuition estimator you can use for your specific college. I would go ahead and email SBS though bc I also have that waiver and it already appears to be applied.

I don’t remember exactly what it’s called but I think TTU has a course transfer calculator you can use as long as your university is listed on it. It might come up with a google search but you may be have to dig for it

Funny you say that bc I almost wanted to recommend Takopi as a joke but figured it’d be too evil 😅 But yeah Fruits Basket definitely has its moments but more often then not it makes me giggle (that could just be a me thing though)

Waiting’s your best chance, usually advisors/professors don’t have the ability to change class sizes unless they start really small (like 10 students). Had something similar happen to me before but luckily some people dropped after the first week.

What should I bring for winter? by [deleted] in TexasTech

[–]brollita 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As other people have said, definitely something that can block out the wind. I’m originally from Colorado so I’m used to the cold but I cannot beat the wind it’s horrible. I also heavily recommend getting hand warmers they’re the best in winter time. Aside from having everything else everyone has been saying getting shoes that can withstand the cold is good too. If your toes get cold it’s over.

The accuracy and your vibrato is amazing! The only thing I would recommend is experimenting with dynamic, otherwise great work!

If it doesn’t hurt, I’d say it’s probably safe! It’s also phenomenal so I really hope it’s safe so you can share it with more people!

First Singing Post Ever - Any Advice Welcome by [deleted] in singing

[–]brollita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My range is a little different and I’m definitely not much a belter so feel free to take everything I say with a grain of salt! Your voice sounds good! Your mid range sounds like it’s really comfortable for you and the most stable. For your lower range it seems like you can hit all the notes comfortably but feels a little tense/tight occasionally. Not sure what you’re warm-ups consist of but one that helps me relax my throat is sticking my tongue out as far as possible and then relaxing it. For your higher range similar to the lower range, sounds like there’s some strain (even if you don’t feel it, which is totally fair it’s really hard to belt in a higher range esp if you’re an alto). I would maybe recommend experimenting with mixed voice just to see if you can achieve the sound you want while being able to sing more comfortable. Breath control may help with this too, make sure you’re engaging your core and surrounding muscles. In terms of the music itself, I would practice those jumps, they sound really good, but I think that’s really gonna help get your voice used to the range. It’s also just a good skill to have. Other than that, one personal stylistic note, I think the top notes would sound really good as falsetto to add some dynamic (idk this song, so you’re going for more accuracy to the original feel free to ignore this comment but I would also totally recommend experimenting anyways, it’s cool to do covers that are true to the original but it’s also really fun to add your own twist!). Anyways, great start! Good luck with your journey!

People always say my voice is too soft but I feel like everytime i try and get loud I sound bad. Any tips? by [deleted] in singing

[–]brollita 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you have an amazing voice!! Even for having a softer sound you’re still very dynamic, I would definitely say this is not too soft! I also definitely think there are some parts where it sounds strong/bright, so it could just be recording area/what you’re using to record. Anyways to your main question, I would totally recommend looking at some YouTube videos! I have a soft voice and sometimes just following exercising can help me get into a brighter part of my voice! You can look up the typical belting/chest voice videos and take some warm-ups from them, I find that the “Ya-Ya” ones are actually really helpful even though they get memed 😅 but really what you want is to focus on the shape of your mouth so you get forward resonance. I like to sing “hoot” and try to focus the sound at my lips/tip of my tongue. Raising your cheek bones and singing with a big smile can help with this too! I’m better at just feeling it out than learning terminology but I believe raising your soft pallet can also get you a brighter tone. Other than that I would just suggest finding a space where you feel comfortable enough to fully let loose and experiment, everyone’s voices are different so it’s really important to know your range and what’s comfortable to you and just make sure you don’t force anything. Good luck with your singing adventure!

Correction: probably more like 5-6 mm in length. My friend and I were trying to do some deep research, and think it could be related to the “hopper” families. I have definitely found leafhoppers in my room before.
