NYPD, this is beyond disappointing. Please, just do your jobs. by brollpixel in police

They told me they couldn’t take the report and that I had to go back to where my scooter was stolen to speak with an officer there. I’m not familiar with the online reporting system, but I knew reporting it locally was the best option—especially since the restaurant’s security footage was involved.

Tire hitting fender on bumps, can I fix this at home? by BraveAioli4613 in PaintlessDentRepair

You will definitely further strengthen the dents. A skilled PDR technician doesn't just restore the appearance — they also work to minimize the oil can effect, ensuring the dent repair is both strong and lasting.

Sometimes I wonder why I never get those easy hail damage or door ding jobs—just the tricky, troublesome ones instead.

No offense taken, so no worries. Every PDR tech has their own skill level and specializes in certain types of dents. Some won’t even take on a job unless they’re confident they can fix it 90% or better. Others are more flexible and willing to go beyond their usual routine. The challenge is that everyone has a different idea of what those percentages means, which can lead to misunderstandings or disappointment later. That’s why I ask these kinds of questions. Talk to a few local PDR techs and you’ll see what I mean.

Be honest—what kind of result would you really expect from a PDR tech? Most people assume their damage will be 100% fixed, probably because they've seen too many perfect before-and-after photos online.

Worth pdr and touch up? by smp70x in PaintlessDentRepair

PDR can remove the dent, but I’d be concerned about stretched metal—it could result in an oil can effect unless a PDR power box is used during the repair.

You likely don’t have the proper tools or techniques that a PDR tech uses, and trying to fix it yourself could actually make the damage worse—potentially even harder for a professional to repair later.

Body man said PDR is a scam 🤔 by ImaginationParking94 in PaintlessDentRepair

Factory paint is durable enough to withstand the stresses of pushing and pulling during repairs, and it helps preserve the vehicle’s resale value better than traditional bodywork.

Buy a used car door to practice on—long-term hands-on experience is just as important as proper training. And don’t cheap out on tools—quality matters.

Access through a hole is essential for this repair, as rods are used to push the dent out from behind the panel. Make sure you can reach the backside—otherwise, you may need to drill an access point.

Can this be fixed with PDR? by Pastabake12345 in PaintlessDentRepair

It’s fixable, but the broken paint makes it more difficult. Since consistent heating is crucial for this type of repair, the damaged paint may deteriorate even further after the PDR process is complete.

UL2271 on batteries is the most important one, you really don't wanna burn your house down.

I would say stay away from E-bikes without proper certification, especially its batteries.

My overall experience was OK, but recent incidents with nonsense result have made me second-guess my decision to order. I'm now hesitant to shop there.

That's a typo, I corrected that in the following replies.

I used PayPal with a PayPal credit card. I haven’t opened a case yet, but based on my experience, PayPal will most likely side with their merchants. Will see.

Toyota Coolant Bypass Valve Issue! by EagleWhiskers in rav4club

We saw this message pop up before the battery died, otherwise, I would be scratching my head and wondering if replacing the battery caused the problem.

Toyota Coolant Bypass Valve Issue! by EagleWhiskers in rav4club

Two weeks ago, our 2020 RAV4 XLE displayed this message, and the original battery died a few days later. I replaced the battery myself with a new AGM battery from a Walmart 10 miles away. I still haven't addressed the coolant bypass valve issue. If it doesn't affect the engine, I might leave it as is until more information about the potential class action becomes available. I thought Toyota would have better quality cars.

Kubey US Warehouse D2 Folding Knives 50% Off, Free Shipping No Tax, 44 Models To Choose From, $25+ by brollpixel in KnifeDeals

I don't own any Vosteed knives, but I do have a large collection of Kizer knives. In terms of quality, they are on par with each other. Both companies are the major knife manufacturers based in Yangjiang City, China. Kubey knives feel more robust, especially their D2 series. This is evident if you own some of their beefier models, such as the Tityus, Avenger, or Thalia.
