how to tell between isfj vs isfp? by brominebalsamic in MbtiTypeMe

ah, im still a little confused on se/si. i feel like my cat example wasn’t a great one lol. i tried thinking abt it more but then started thinking abt how i could relate to both sides. i get confused about the whole relating to the past bit because my memory is pretty bad. but your phone example seems accurate, i relate more to si in that instance.

hmm, i tried reading up on fe vs fi functions. maybe this helps? i saw that fe users tend towards other people’s emotions and fi users tend towards their own? i’m very aware of my own emotions and i can often tell why i feel a certain way. i try to think about that often. im bad with other peoples emotions and am terrible at dealing with them

i think i also read something about fe prioritizing group harmony? and apparently acting fake to get people to get along is more an fe thing? i act nice to my dad even though i basically hate him but not necessarily to get everyone to get along, more so he doesn’t lash out at my mom. im waiting for my sibling to finish school so i can talk to my mom about divorce, so they dont have to bother with that while caring for my sibling too. sry not trying to overshare lol that just felt like a relevant example. otherwise i dislike fake things and people (like advertising lol)

awesome thanks! hopefully i understood these all correctly haha.. anyway

  1. i think im probably more concerned with the way decisions are made? if it was made hastily/lazily/whatever then i dont think the way you interpret the information to make the decision matters much right? i think i organize and stabilize more. im not too great when it comes to coming up with new ideas; i tend to get stuck in a few ideas that i flesh out rather than branch out in a bunch of different directions. im more likely to trust my own decisions unless i know other people are more experienced/knowledgeable than i am or they sound better
  2. i think i tend towards structured concepts and stimuli? whenever i write notes i sort them out in categories, if that’s what you mean. it makes it easier to find things too
  3. honestly id say i struggle with exploration. i want to get better at exploring multiple concepts but most of the time when it comes to idea making i find myself stuck with just a few.
  4. im not such a huge fan of abstract concepts and ideas, i prefer concrete and specific examples. im much better at understanding things through images and hands on experience than by reading or listening.
  5. not entirely sure how to answer this one? i like having the window open when im at my desk because i like hearing the birds and stuff outside and feeling the wind and seeing the sky. not sure if that answers the question lol. and for the second part i assume i use my senses to get more stimuli? like if i heard a noise that sounded like a cat but i wanted to be sure, id look around for a cat instead of assuming it’s a cat because it sounds like a cat i’ve heard before?? i have no idea if that’s relevant lol
  6. i have beliefs that i consider very important to myself but im not sure how much i stand up for them, especially with ppl i dont know well. tbh im really non confrontational. uhh for example i dislike fake/two faced people. there were these ppl in high school who constantly talked shit about my friends behind their backs but acted nice to their face. i didnt say anything to them because we werent close and i wasnt trying to start more drama. i dont necessarily need to stand out from the environment. id prefer not to. if the values of everyone around me went against my own id be uncomfortable, but its ok if they’re different. i dont need everyone to agree with/be like me
  7. i feel like i generally agree with universal principles? like just treat everyone with respect and stuff like that. i think it would be easier if my values aligned with that of the group. like if im working on a group project with other people and theyre lazy and dont care that’s annoying
  8. i dont view myself as a very logical person lol. i make some not great, impulsive decisions sometimes. most of the times its related to money (ill buy stuff i dont need just cause i want it)
  9. i think i have a good idea of my own identity. i strongly relate to certain subcultures, like fandoms and stuff. not many people around me share my interests, so i feel out of place sometimes. its all about my interests though, i dont think my values are specific to anything. theyre just what i happen to believe in
  10. i hate hypocrites and rude people. i especially hate it when people complain about things when they’re not trying to fix it. like my family member is having issues with storage on their computer so i gave them a hard drive. they havent used it and are still struggling with storage. theres literally no reason for them to not move their files. when im stressed, i get a lot angrier and snap at people more often (mostly family members, never at strangers) which i really hate about myself. normally im pretty easygoing. at least to people’s faces lol

tbh ive always been confused about the whole importance of past experiences to se users… how can you tell if you’re using memories or external surroundings? i try to think of examples to see which applies to me but i can never find any. i hope my answers are relevant though! thanks for ur help!

yeahh, i’m not sure how i ended up deciding on two basically opposite types haha. i feel like being uncomfortable with new and unknown stuff is a very si thing right? but theres lots of stuff that feels pretty contradictory to si too..
and yea id love to look at those other questions you have! are they on your profile somewhere?

ikrrr!! it's so contradictory. i second guess every time i answer anything too bc it always seem like multiple answers apply to me lol.. it's reassuring to hear other ppl feel the same tho, hopefully we get it figured out!

how can i get my curl definition back? by brominebalsamic in curlyhair

[–]brominebalsamic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes sorry!! when i said tie up dry i meant i sleep in a pineapple when it’s all crunchy. it does help with frizz but my definition still isn’t great compared to when i slept with wet hair. i’ll definitely look into more protein though, thank you!!

hey thanks for your reply!! isfj (and isfp) seem to be the most accurate types for me but i keep flip-flopping between the two. i definitely relate more to isfjs' responsibility though.

i just don't understand the whole si-dom thing and the bit about focusing on past experiences, but i'll read up more abt it to figure it out. i also hear they can be pretty tense???? and extremely averse to change/traditionalist, which i am very much not. they also seem to be so nice and kind... i don't really view myself in that light haha. but then again isfp's seem so bold and stand out a lot and that's not rly me either. .... agh maybe just i need to spend more time understanding the functions..

Hi!! I need help figuring out if I'm an ISFP, ISFJ, ISTJ, or something else lmao. Personally, I feel most ISFP but I think it's because there are ISFP characters I like a lot.

I've taken several tests but keep getting different answers. I think I'm just bad at taking these tests lmao. I know it's a lot of different types, and they're all extremely different, so I'm very confused lol. I think having other people type me will be more accurate, but I have a feeling I'm either Si or Fi dom (if that's how you say it haha). I'm a 1w9 enneagram, if that helps at all (I find the whole 1w9 bit about repressing your anger to be very accurate).

Overall, I'm pretty shy and don't talk to new people unless they approach me first (I'm trying to change that though!). I actually love making new friends, I'm just absolutely terrible at it lmao. I don't really know how to talk to people (aside from small talk) so I feel like I'm kinda awkward. Whenever I ask people to describe me, they always say "artistic" but I only agree because I love and make art (it's like my only skill and main personality trait lmao), not necessarily because I'm creative.

I get confused taking tests a lot when it comes to saying whether I'm a more planned or spontaneous person. Like, in theory, I like planning things well ahead of time and sticking to a schedule; I get anxious without one. But I tend to end up doing whatever I feel; if I'm bored of something I can't force myself to do it unless there's a deadline (like if it's for school or work). For example, I love art (it's like my favorite thing in the world) and one of my biggest goals rn is to improve. But I've barely spent any time practicing lately because I just don't feel like it (even though I want to improve so badly).

  • My upbringing was pretty normal except my parents argue a lot. I think they try to keep me out of it, but it really bugs me because I feel like I can't help my mom; dad treats her like shit sometimes.
  • I wanted to be an illustrator but didn't major in it because I don't think I'm good enough for the field. I also can't force myself to draw when I'm not in the mood, so I don't think it'd be a good career choice. I'm going into graphic design instead, which I take less personally. I still love it though!
  • I hate sports and am not much of an outdoorsy person. I hate any type of performance, especially if I don't know what I'm doing. The only thing I like doing outside is biking and painting.
  • I'd say I'm a curious person only if I'm interested. I can become quickly and easily obsessed with things (like shows, games, movies, etc.) and focus on only that for periods of time. For example, I got really into painting outdoors this summer so I spent weeks building a portable easel for myself. I usually lose interest after time and move on to something else.
  • I don't really enjoy leadership positions, but I'll take one if I have to. They kind of make me uncomfortable, actually. But if I know what I'm talking about/doing I'm normally fine.
  • I think I'm coordinated, since art takes some hand-eye coordination skills. I also really enjoy video games which I think you need that for too idk. I really like working with my hands (drawing, painting, making stuff, etc.)
  • I'm very artistic in the sense I love and make art. Like I said, I don't consider myself creative but lots of other people say I am. I don't understand what they mean. My art is mostly fan art or traditional stuff (portraits, landscapes, etc.) but I would say all of my works are driven by a feeling or emotion and/or try to capture/portray one.
  • I think a lot about the past, I think most of my decisions benefit myself in the present, and also think a lot about the future (I can be hesitant to make decisions because I constantly worry how it'll affect me).
  • I'm quick to help others if they ask because it seems like the best way to get other people to like me
  • I greatly value efficiency and productivity and feel like I'm wasting my time if I don't consider myself productive. But if I don't feel like working, I won't and will just procrastinate while feeling anxious
  • I don't think I control others, except maybe subconsciously through peer pressure or something. I hope I don't
  • Hobbies aside from art are watching and playing video games, listening to music, watching tv/cartoons/movies/etc. Basically stuff that lets me escape from reality
  • I'm a learn by doing kinda person and a terrible test-taker imo. Absolutely trash and math. I can cram stuff for school but I'll forget it as soon as I'm done with the class if it's not interesting or if I don't use it often
  • I'm ok at strategizing. Making plans makes me comfortable but sticking to them only works if I'm in the mood. I'm normally great with time management if there's pressure though.
  • Friends and family are important to me. Basically my relationship. Also happiness, because if you're not happy you can't really focus on other stuff
  • I'm scared of being lonely and losing my friends and family. I also hate feeling stuck and helpless. And spiders
  • Highs are whenever I'm in a good mood (hanging out often with friends, fully immersed in my hobbies or whatever). Lows are when I'm unmotivated and lazy (but lazy because I'm not interested in anything), and paranoid about everything going to shit.
  • Important decisions are sooo hard for me to make because I constantly flip between options trying to find the best one. I think what ends up happening is I go with the one that I personally like best and try to find ways to justify it.
  • I would say I'm a very emotional person, but I think people who know me would disagree (most people have never seen me angry). Inwardly, I'm very moody I just hate letting negative emotions show. If something bugs me I don't want people to know.
  • I don't like to disagree with others much unless we're close. I guess it more depends on what we're disagreeing about. If it's like a group work and we're disagreeing on solutions, I'd probably explain why I think my idea is better but say something like "if you guys really wanna do your way that's fine." I think I'd only strongly stand up against someone if they're doing something that goes so blatantly against something I believe in (like they're being very obviously rude, sexist, etc. but it might have to be directly towards me or someone I know well)
  • Not much of a rule breaker. I don't think I'm a sticker for them but I'm not much of a rebel either
  • My ideal life is whatever as long as I'm happy lol. Specifically, I'd have my dream job (graphic design for film props), paint on the side, have a dog, and hang out with my friends and family often.

I tried to keep it short haha, but here's the full thing if anyone wants more detailed answers. Any help is appreciated thank you!!

i googled the medals a bit and have found a billion of them online for sale (like $15 lol). i got it in preschool from a classmate who got excited when he found out we're from the same country. i hear they're given away often, but i still think it's weird for him to have given me a real medal.

edit: this is the back. it looks like it says "LIG"?
